Marlene started out her early days just walking through the streets of Curon. Her past long forgotten because it was so unbearably dull to be remembered. She eventually landed herself a job as a local tavern’s inventory keeper at the age of twelve. It didn’t last too long though because the barkeep had an extremely short temper and accused her of thievery before tossing her out on the street again. This led to a dislike of merchants and business owners alike. She wandered about many oblivious people for many days, scrounged for food whenever she could, and walked around chatter and propaganda posters that made elves seem like utter garbage. She never had met an elf, nor seen an actual elf, but the ill will still stuck to her like glue. One of those lonesome days she was invited into the Church of Canon for some food and shelter by the feeble hand of one of the priests there. She accepted, ate, and went on her merry way safe and sound. A few years pass with this routine, but now going from town to town, and she finds herself in the middle of the principality of Rosenyr and they spoke in an accent that she was not used to. Here she spent much time, cleaned herself up, developed an accent on her own, stocked up on food, and bought her clothes before heading out on her merry way once again into the land of Arcas. She also developed a love of their symbol (The Rose) while she was there. It struck her as indefinitely pretty and as something she strived to be.
