In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming is applying out of character knowledge to your character during roleplay or even just regular character creation

Cassius's background is a little different than others in the nation of Sutica, his mihr or father like every other male Adunian was in the military and on every warfront he could stand in. His mother however was not, she was the daughter of a high Elf and was to be betrothed to the leader of the elven army at the time. She was found by his father in the woods scouting out, of course he'd heard of her but seeing her throwing rocks against the river so aggressively won his heart. and so he set on wooing her before she was betrothed. He accomplished this of course and finished the war and being in the military to look after her, and his spoon to be children.

After a few years his mother gave birth to Cassius after three other miracle children. Cassius was their last and given that his mother almost died in childbirth his father refused anymore children, that wouldn't matter in a few years... Cassius gained the name of their brolmihr, on his mother's side. His mihr wasn't happy about this but refused to disagree with his wife, whom he practically worshipped even the ground she stepped on. When Cassius was a child his mother told them great stories of their brolmihr Cassius, a high Elf.

Cassius was amazed as a child, but as he grew and their mother passed from sickness his siblings told him different. His grandfather was a proud man, whom Cassius thought stood for what he believed and wouldn't let others push their thoughts onto him. The stories where false, grandfather disowned mother when she married mihr, whom he often thought below himself and his daughter as an Adunian, he often was ignored in his line of work and stepped on with others opinions. His highest sister told Cassius these stories after their mother had passed, mihr refused to even speak grandfather's name and mother wasn't around to keep Cassius from hearing the truth anymore. So Cassius grew even more, they became better than the stories they heard of their grandfather, he would be proud but he refused to let others step on him, and his family.

He gallivanted with his siblings but as he grew so did they and he was once again alone. His mihr had joined in helping the military again after mother's passing, his eyes reminded him too much of his mother. So he read, and became knowledgeable of many things, although his favorite were those of nature and political ideas. He read in the house for many years until his 18th.

Many had forgotten the young lad as he'd become recluse, his siblings however did not. With there families of their own they came to the house and celebrated Cassius's coming of age. It looked more of a woman's coming of age but it made Cassius happy and want to live and see everything again. He went on his trek and even though he was only expected to go to one neighboring clan, he saw the culture and knowledge he was missing. He went to almost all of them including some shrines to pay homage to the patrons. He had finally finished his trip at the swell age of 22, and came home only to see his village had dwindled even more. He knew there wasn't any children to play with when he was child of course besides his siblings but he'd never fully understood what that meant. He met with his siblings and their spouses all of whom had been trying for years to conceive. He could see the mourning and grief in his sister's eyes and the guilt and anguish in his brothers. He vowed to them he'd find a way, a cure, whatever to help bring back children to the village.

He spent most of his years after working through many different medical and magic of prayer, although it never seemed to work for him, to help his siblings. Even dabbled in alchemy to fix the problem. He visited his family had them updated, on one such visit his second eldist sister announced her pregnancy. He was estatic the first of his siblings to finally conceive, his eldist sister took him aside after celebration and told him not to be too optimistic and told him of his mother's problems with birth and how her passing had been from sickness hidden deep from Cassius's birth. He soon found out that she was right.

His sister at a solid 27 weeks of being pregnant went into early labor, of course knowing they had the medical means to save the baby and his sister had probably made him at ease but knowing how the curse is he should've known. At midnight the best healer came and announced her death, and the unfortunate passing of his nephew minute's after his birth. Cassius dug himself into finding a cure, refusing a job, militia, and a wife. He made sure that he was going to find the solution if it was the last thing he could do. His siblings are worried of course but it's obvious he was struck by the death more than they were. They could only hope that he would eventually see life again and not just curse.

Character Name: Cassius
Character Race: Adunian
Character Gender: Prefer not to say.
Character Age: 26
Physical Description: Fluffy brown hair, Golden/ Hazel eyes, slightly pointed ears, their attire is usually a brown cloak or jacket with brown pants. 5'6, lanky body type.
Roleplay Scenario:

You’ve just stepped off of the boat in the port of a massive and fortified city. Before you lies a sprawling bazaar, with numerous shops, stalls, and seated traders selling wares to folk of all walks of life. Just as you’re about to continue walking onwards, into the market, you’re approached by a well-dressed gentleman who looks upon you with a big smile. “Welcome!” He began. “What brings you to this lovely city? Adventure? Wealth? Or some grand aspirations to elevate your place in society?”

How do you respond?

Cassius's eyes glanced up and down at the man, assuming him to either be in great role for the city or a scam artist. He straightened his front with his hands and responded with a calm and collected tone "Well sir, I only look to elevate my place in society if it benefits me and at the moment," Cassius took this moment to pause and glance at the agreeably beautiful city, in nonchalance. Seeing the man waiting for him to continue he smirked. "It's not really what I'm aiming for in this city. Might do me better if you could point me in the general direction of your nearest library or alchemist?" He inquired with a raised brow and a small smile.
