In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming is when someone is roleplaying, and uses knowledge about things they wouldn't know or hadn't learned, such as a character in Dungeons and Dragons knowing how much HP a monster has because they read it in a book, basically just when your character knows everything you know in real life, and uses it for an advantage
In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Powergaming is when you try and make it so that you have the perfect character, with things that only benefit you, kinda like if you were playing minecraft and decided to rush ahead and get diamonds while everyone else had wooden tool, its the act of making your character near impossible to beat and by default making it easier for you

Cade grew up on the outskirts of the Holy Orenian Empire, in a townhouse shared with 2 other families. He was born in a stable, as his parents couldn't afford to take him to a doctor, and from birth he would always make people laugh. His housemates had a few children around his age, and as they grew up their friendship bonded. He and his father had the closest bond of all, for after a problem with his mothers next pregnancy, he and his father were left alone. His father worked as a blacksmith and would bring Cade his latest trinket he had made (though they were never very good, Cade loved each one dearly). When Cade was 8, he started to apprentice under a baker, and by 12 was able to make dishes good enough to earn a working wage. His family still never had enough, and even though cade worked around food for the next few years, he never seemed to have a full stomach. when Cade was 14, his father was engulfed in a fire caused by a malfunction with the forge. Cade witnessed his father fall under huge burning timbers, and tried desperately to pull his father out. He wasn't strong enough, and he was still pulling when his fathers hand went limp. The bright flames had caused damage to cades eyes, and left burns running up both arms. He had to spend the last of his money paying for medical aid, leaving none for a funeral. after the fire, Cade left the Empire with nothing but a bag of trinkets and rations. For nearly 10 years, Cade lived by travelling the roads, making friends with other travelers and sleeping under the stars. Some people would take pity on him and leave him with something useful, more food or a few coins. Finally, he joined a band of musicians that travelled across Almaris, spreading joy and happiness. After these musicians were attacked by thieves, cade was left once again on his own, travelling to try and find a place to settle down, to make a life for himself, a place to call home.
