Dante grew up in Carolustadt, under his caring but strict mother’s guidance. His father was almost always away, as he made his living by scribing dialogues from the meetings of people who bore a higher status within society. He received combatant training at a young age like most of his brethren, however instead of being taught by another human as is standard, he was taught by an old Elf by the name of Ellysion, and learned archery. His mother taught him well, educating him in the many joys and arts that allow a Heartlander to live a fulfilling life. All save one.
Although he’d always desired to be a bard, Dante’s mother refused it adamantly, in fear for the financial instability that would await. In hopes of preventing this, she apprenticed him to a talented carpenter, where he became more than competent with a workbench. With these skills and the help of the town smith, Dante managed to craft a reed-flute of his own and proceeded to journey away from home at the meager age of 16.
However, he could not make it far given his inexperience in the real world. He has since moved from job to job as an artisan, honing as many crafts as possible. Now at 22, he hopes to achieve only the highest honors and become a bard that's name echoes through the halls of royals. Ready to venture, he has steeled his mind and decided his future begins in Presa de Madera, and the journey will be much worthwhile.
Dante is a member of the Church of Canon like many others but does not view it as an obligation. Instead, he merely indulges in their ceremonies in order to gain knowledge of subject matter to which he can refer in his art.
He’s also a terrible chef, and although witty doesn’t perform well when it comes to haggling. His weakness has always been a quick-witted merchant. Also, although taught about the arts and crafts, his historical knowledge is lacking so he finds it difficult to discuss history. Even still he does attempt to read whatever he can to improve his understanding of the workings of the world.
