Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Quincy eyes the old woman cautiously but seeing no immediate threat, he sits down in a criss cross position. "Well if you must know," he says rubbing his chin "then let's start from the beginning."
"25 years ago, my father, Adam Kaos, was a priest to The Church of Canon. He was a very holy man who devoted his life to it."
"That was until, he fell in love with one of the penitents he was supposed to absolve. They were happy together for nearly 3 years."
"Until of course, one thing led to another and she was pregnant. Adam was furious. He never wanted a child and blamed his former lover. It got so bad he fled Apostolic City never to be seen again."
"The woman died months later from childbirth with the only thing she had left her child was a name and a promise for her."
The old had raised her eyebrows in curiosity. "And what is that promise?"
Quincy unsheathed his small dagger and began to polish it with a rag from his pocked in front of the hag.
"To find and kill the sonavbitch who left me and my mother to die."
