Govrik grew up an orphan on the streets of Holm, and was collectively cared for by his community until he was old enough to work. He acquired an accent similar to that of other Dwarves, but was sometimes looked down upon due to not having an allegiance to any clan. He worked at a local shop where he learned tinkering and smithing, and took an interest in magic. Though he enjoyed these crafts, his interest in magic led him to want to discover the world outside of Holm. Now that he has finally come of age he is preparing to leave his home city for the first time, so he can uncover the mysteries of the world and hopefully of his own past as well.

They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
