    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: When I get in character, I tend to forget everything else and focus solely on the character. This helps me avoid powergaming. I also play Dnd regularly so I have the ability to hone my roleplaying ability. Powergaming could ruin the experience for others by utilizing unfair or unpredictable behavior to gain an advantage or break their immersion. I can avoid forcing situations on others by being mindful of my situation and others, describing actions rather than results, and asking for help if I am unsure what to do.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming can cause issues with immersion and may make for unrealistic roleplay scenario. It overall ruins the experience and should be avoided. Metagaming can also alter the player's experience, taking away from the server overall.

Physical Description: Marrin is short and scrawny with numerous clockwork devices on her body. She has brown and red hair with goggles and a mashed together outfit.
Roleplay Scenario:

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"How do you know my name?, she leans in eagerly. "Are you a witch? Wizard? I've always wanted to study magic up close. Could you preform a spell for me? Or maybe... oh! What was your name again? Right, anyway I'm an alchemist, or an aspiring one anyway. I've come here to study alchemy but...", she gestures around "I got a little lost.

Please make the following changes in the next 48 hours:

  • Please adjust your powergaming response to better show how you would avoid forcing actions upon others.
  • Please expand upon your roleplay response. Try for about six sentences with both dialogue and actions in third person. You may separate these however you want.
  • Please remove the "My Character" reference in your physical description. Try to write it like how a book might describe a character.
