History
Haemir is nineteen years old. He hails from Santegia, having traveled there when he was much younger with his father and mother. His father, Terryn, and his mother, Dimia, were both Adunian, and having left their birth homes to escape the stigma of their kind, ended up in Santegia, in the Valley of the Heartlands. Haemir had a relatively normal sort of childhood. His parents never spoke of his heritage or the stories of his people, so he grew up rather blind to everything having to do with what he was. He didn’t even know until he turned seventeen, at which point his hair began to turn grey.
Confused and spurred on by the incessant teasing from his friends, he confronted his parents, only to have them sit him down and tell him in full what he was. Then, his father, the stern and tired man he was, made Haemir swear to never speak of it again.
Feeling betrayed by his parents for hiding such a huge part of himself from him, Haemir left in a fit of rage, taking nothing but his father’s claymore and the clothes on his back.
As he began to travel the lands as a travelling mercenary, Haemir gradually grew to learn more about his culture, adopting the traditional ‘full bodied’ clothing look, wearing a mixture of chain mail, sturdy dyed leather, and fur lining that kept him warm even in the coldest of places.
Personality
Haemir is an awkward, oblivious sort of man. While he desires companionship, his awkward and reckless tendencies tend to drive people away from him- as well as his susceptibleness for flirtation. He has a sort of earnest charm about him, however, never saying something he doesn’t mean, and always rushing to someone’s aid when he feels it necessary- despite whether they want his help or not. He’s gotten into many scrapes like this; such as one instance where he rushed to a lady’s side when he believed her to be ill. All this received from her was a good, solid punch in the face, leaving a stern black eye as a signal for others to keep a wide berth. Despite his apparent awkwardness, Haemir can be very charismatic when he wants to be, and can use his sincereness and honest personality for the benefit of his own speech. Some people claim that he’s a warm soul to be around, but others are just as quick to say that he’s preachy and annoying.
Haemir gets extremely flustered very easily, whether he feels people are staring at him, or when he is on the receiving end of flirty comments and sly looks. His face goes beet-root red, and he turns into an incoherent mess, stammering over his words and finding a way to escape the situation. Sometimes, this leads to him throwing a few punches, which is yet another reason why he causes so many brawls wherever he goes. More than on one occasion has Haemir had to been rescued from being roofied and tied to a tree, having all of his possessions stolen in the process. How, you ask, does this happen? He is simply charmed into taking a drink of some tempting liquor, and thus robbed blind and left humiliated by a tree.
Haemir struggles with some inner turmoil- both from his nature and from his various failed romances, all with women. though he truly knows why he’s so inept at staying steady with a female, he will never, ever, never admit it, much less act on his feelings.
