    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Meta-gaming is using OOC information while IC, like knowing about some interpersonal relationship between characters and using it in rp despite your character not having any reason to know it.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Powergaming is effectively taking control of an rp. Like going into a combat scenario and deciding who wins and loses all on your own without any input from other parties.

John Finch is a simple man that leads a simple life. One without grand adventures, or fantastical things. He is a woodsman by nature of birth and circumstance, living in the woods north of the Cloud Temple. As far as anyone can remember that’s all the Finch lineage have ever been. John’s ancestors left The Kingdom of Hanseti long ago with a small group of their fellow Highlanders, seeking to lead a simpler life away from cities. They found a home among nature, surrounded by trees. John follows this age old lifestyle of self reliance, living alone in the woods like some hermit of the Druidic Order. He’s no Jack of all trades, but he is certainly a master of few. Incredibly skilled in woodworking and bushcraft, John has little trouble surviving in harsh places with few materials. His skill in combat is certainly more limited, relying on guerrilla tactics and a degree of skill in archery honed by years of experience hunting.

Physical Description: John stands at 6'3" with short cut, dirty blond hair and a full, bushy beard. His clothes are simple, a well-worn leather overcoat atop work clothes.
Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
