    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Like most aspects of RP, avoiding powergaming comes down to knowing your character and their limitations. Everybody wants to be a badass, but not everyone is capable of badass feats. Just know your character and their limits, and you should be fine. And, y'know, don't be a jerk and start forcing stuff onto other people. But that part is just common sense I feel.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Like is stated in the rules, RP is about give and take. Putting it simply, meta-gaming allows you to take without giving anything in return, gaining knowledge with no tradeoff. This is unfair, and disrupts a fundamental aspect of RP as a medium.

Physical Description: Rugged appearance, 5'11", 180 Lbs, dark brown hair and eyes. Wears typical duelist attire, vests and a single glove.
Roleplay Scenario:

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Verdin eyes the hag suspiciously, but shrugs, not really seeing the old lady as a threat. Still, he keeps a hand near his belt, close to his blade in case she tries anything funny. He sighs, grinning subtly as he sits. "My story? Well, if you've been expecting me, I imagine you know why I'm here. I'm hardly surprised, I can't imagine there's much else to do in this backwater town. Must make big news when a duelist like me comes to town" Verdin muses, chuckling slightly and narrowing his eyes. "I'll make sure to show you folks a duel you'll never forget" He finishes, bowing his head respectfully.
