Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
After stooping through the doorway Valderin stands up and almost hits his head on the roof, he looks around to see a small room with a few cushions on the ground and a table, he pulls back his dark green hood to show his grey skin and dirty black hair which just barely reveals his two light blue eyes through. Valderin set down his bag of what remained of his belongings and sat down where the woman was pointing. "Well." he says in a relieved tone, "I take it my friend must of told you I was coming?" he runs his hand through his hair in an attempt to get it out of his eyes but it just falls back to where it was, "Where to begin?" he says quietly to himself as he rubs his aching head. "I grew up in a good-sized cave in the side of a hill in the savanna, where my clan had moved to from the icy mountains not long ago. " The woman offers Valderin a drink, which he takes eagerly. After a long sip, he continues. "After my mother died of a sickness, I studied martial arts as my dad had, though he died when I was quite young. Me being his youngest son, I looked up to what little I could remember of him.” He pauses for a second, getting his breath, as the air here is much denser than he is used to. "My older brothers…" He said as he shifted his legs because the cushion was not comfortable at all, especially with his long legs, "My older brothers had already left toward some human town for work, so I had to leave, and this was the only place I could think of to go to.
