In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: I'm in it for the roleplay aspects, Powergaming doesnt seem that fun and is not particualry something I'm even interested in exploring. I guess I avoid it by not even being remotely interested in it.
In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: I've played DND, I've larped, this is not my first rodeo as far as roleplay goes, Metagaming sucks becuase it can ruin plans unfairly if you've spent hours setting them up it can just destroy a story you were wanting to explore and see where it leads.

Character Name: MayLeaf Cinder
Character Race: Highlander
Character Gender: Female
Character Age: 22
Physical Description: 6 foot 2, fair skin color, Left eye blue, right eye green. Slim build, Leather and Fur clothing to resit the cold. Red hair.
Roleplay Scenario:

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

((How do you respond?))

MayLeaf sits down reluctantly, and stares at the old hag suspiciously "If you were expecting me then surely you've heard of my tales? My feats."

The old hag would likely reply "Why I've heard my fair share but how can I believe anything but your own words"

Mayleaf sighs as she stares at the flame of a nearby candle.

"My story begins like many of my kind, with tragedy and bloodshed. I once belonged to a nomadic tribe of outcasts, Growing up in that climate always on the move was tough but I always had my tribe, my family. We kept to our own but I always enjoyed wandering off for days on end, watching people that wandered through our lands with curiosisty whereas most would stare on with caution. However these quiet moments of people wacthing didnt last very long for my Tribe had grown tired of being outcasts and began preparing for war, I was forced to train like everyone else but I prefered running and climibing to brutal fighting so I quickly became a scout. As the years went one my tribe members fell one by one until on the eve of my 18th our camp was raided, everyone had died and killed each other and all I could do was run. I could have fought I couuld have stayed behind and died along my brothers and sisters but I didnt, I just ran. For the past 4 years I've been running, trying to help those who need it to make up for the lives that I had abandoned, as much as I'd like to find a new tribe, a new people to belong to I dont think I deserve it..."

Mayleaf finally looks back up the hag, anger and sorrow in her eyes as she barks at them.

"So tell me, Do you think I can stop running?"
