    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming is using IRL information for your character for an unfair advantage. An example would be suddenly knowing a lot of spells even if your character never studied magic or isn’t a sorcerer
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Powergaming is abusing the roleplay using unrealistic or overpowered actions. These can be making decisions that are out of character, having OP weapons, or having god-like powers

Marina was born and raised on the Queen’s Isle, near the outskirts of Rosenyr. She is a proud member of the far folk, and loves her home. The daughter of a former sailor, Marina certainly knows her way around boats and navigation, and loves nothing more than being on the water. Her way of life, though modest, was privileged, and Marina has been sheltered from the ways of the world. Her parents are kind and good, and have encouraged Marina to see the best in everyone. As an only child, Marina had to find entertainment by herself, and has taken to wandering reading, swimming, and (trying to) befriend the local alabaster seabirds. Though she loves her home, Marina has always had a thirst for adventure. You can only sail so far in such an isolated home.  At age 14, she took up an apprenticeship with an explorer from Rosenyr, and has been able to see a slice of Arcas. Now she dreams of heading to Sutica to find work and maybe a thrilling experience on the side.

Physical Description: Medium-brown skin, short (5’3),athletic build, long dark hair, brown eyes, loose colorful clothing that is easy to move in.
Roleplay Scenario:

 

Marina smiles shyly and shakes the man’s hand. A little overwhelmed by his enthusiasm, her voice comes out soft. “I don’t suppose you could point me to the nearest boarding house?” She asks. Her hands fidget in her tunic as she fights to contain her nervousness and excitement.
