Samü Northric is a Farfolker and was born in Atlas, his skin tone and appearances make that quite clear. However, he does have some Highlander blood. His great grandfather from his father’s side was a proud highlander but he fell in love with a mysterious and exotic woman from a land in the east, leading him to abandon his life in the north and run away with the woman he held most dear. These ancestral roots can still be seen in Samü today, he is a tall man easily reaching 6 feet and his last name, ‘Northric’ can be easily connected to the Highlanders. Samü is the result of an interesting combination of these two cultures.

Samü’s father died when Samü was still a newborn leaving him to grow up in a mostly Farfolker-like manner, but due to the absence of his father he discovered an enormous interested in his father’s roots and culture. Growing up he noticed he was bigger and stronger than most other boys and that he had an appetite for fighting. He also discovered a love for hunting. His mother’s raising on the other hand, thought him many life lessons and other values. She thought him how to be humble and civil, and that he should never force his thoughts and beliefs upon other people. She also thought him to appreciate good food and varying types of art.

Samü tried to learn as much as he could about his father’s ancestors in his younger years, and he discovered many interesting things like The Red Faith, and his families preference for axes, but he eventually decided that the only way to truly learn about the past is to go to where his great-grandfather came from. At the age of fifteen he packed his bags and said goodbye to his mother.

A few weeks later he got homesick and decided it would be best to go home, visit his mother and wait until he was older, but upon arrival he found that his mother was hanged by a guy she refused to marry. This guy went by the name of Rolyk Diykur. Samü became uncontrollably enraged and went to Rolyk’s house where he found him, alone. Samü, blinded by revenge, murdered Rolyk in such an infuriated fashion, only a Highlander could.

With nothing left to lose and no one left to return to, Samü continued his travels to seek the land his great-grandfather came from. He encountered many creatures and discovered a love for cooking (which he had probably gotten from his mother), along the way.

During his travels he got recruited by a captain to explore the seas, Samü saw this as an opportunity to learn about the world and to gain experience whilst he travels onwards. He became pals with the crew and with the captain, making his time worth remembering. But then we got attacked by vicious pirates who wanted to steal our belonging, they defeated us and trapped all of us in separate cells. Samü got lucky, because of his size, because the pirates couldn’t tie him tight enough. Samü made use of this and released himself of the ropes, he broke down the door and went looking for his friends. But, the other cells were empty, where had everyone gone? He was shocked when he saw their heads sticking out from a pole. Samü wanted to take revenge, but there were too many pirates, so he ran and escaped. Ever since that day Samü has had very thick-headed responses and rarely showed that he actually cared for someone, let alone befriend them.

After a few years of finding work, traveling, finding shelter and training he arrived in Arcas, in the nation of Sutica. A land so fruitful, maybe Samü will abandon his quest to find his ancestral lands, maybe Arcas is the land where he will settle and finally have a peaceful life...

My application won’t display my finished answer of ‘what is metagaming?’, so here is the full one:

metagaming is when your character knows certain things because the player knows these things. For example if a friend of mine told me through Skype that someone wanted to attack me, and my character prepared for that event, that's metagaming. Because my character couldn't have known of these events, only I as the player do.

Hello, Geod02. My name is Bluee and I’ll be the one handling your application. I’d like to start out by saying there are a few mistakes in your application, but don’t fret, I’ll be here to help you along the way.

  • Starting off, your biography has a few mistakes. First, you may not be ‘very skilled’ in anything, you may be skilled in an art but not at a ‘mastered’ level, please correct this. Second, you depict yourself roaming to and through the Isles of Aegis but that isn’t possible. The way isles work is after a certain amount of time some event happens so the descendants are forced to move to the next isle. Aegis took place through the years 1305-1349 which is way before your time (As of you turning 21 the year is 1705). If your character is 21 then you would’ve been born on the Isles of Atlas (now residing in Arcas as you turned 21). Please correct this error as well. Third of all, your biography must contain at least two lore pieces from our wiki.
  • Lastly, your interesting facts are good but it must contain at least one negative trait/fact.

Well, that’s all. When you’re finished you may contact me three different ways. These include: posting a comment on this application simply saying you are complete with the changes, sending me a private message on the forums, or contacting me on Discord (Talavok#3594). You may also use my Discord if you need help on your application or you are confused in any way. There is also a New Player Discord with individuals happy to assist you there. Best of luck, I hope to hear back from you soon!

You have 24 Hours to correct these changes.

Hello, Geod02. Thank you for making such wonderful corrections. There is only one more you need to fix, yay!

  • In your biography you mention going to the lands your great-grandfather roamed, if this is true then that would’ve been way past Atlas’ time, which as I stated before, you cannot roam another set of Isles (Such as Axios or Vailor). Though, if you meant early Atlas, please specify.

That’s all! Your application is almost pristine. You may send me a message or comment here when it’s fixed.

Hey Bluee,

thank you for all these wonderful tips on how to improve my application! It has helped a lot.

I have changed my biography in such a way that Samü’s great-grandfather’s land remains unnamed, and that Samü finds Arcas along the way and decides it’s where he wants to stay for the rest of his life. Will this suffice?

Are your great-grandfather’s lands located on Atlas?

Hello, Geod02. I’d like to thank you greatly for working so promptly with me. I’m honored to be the first to say Congratulations!

This is just the first step to creating a legacy on Lord of the Craft! Please, have fun roaming the Isles of Arcas.

If you ever need help in the future or want to get associated with a role-play group, you know where to find me.

p.s. yes your great-grandfather’s lands can be located on Atlas, in-fact, that’s preferred.
