Growing up in the midst of the Southern Tundra, Desmond became extremely knowledgeable in survival and combat skills. His father, a skilled highlander warrior, and his mother stayed at home to raise Desmond. After his father was slain by an Olog, Desmond became full of vengeance at the age of 11 and grew to become an experienced warrior. He trained hard and well, impressing some of the highest military positions. After a stunning defeat Desmond was one of the few alive thanks to the numerous bodies he was covered in. He fled and made his way back to his village where he developed his survival skills and returned home after 3 months. At age 18 after seeing his mother murdered at an uruk and olog raid they were, coincidentally, killed by the same Olog. He tried his best at this Olog but became became overnumbered and had no choice but to flee and took refuge at a distant village, still in the southern Tundra. Luckily, a soon to be good friend of Desmond, stopped by his village in the tundra whose name was Haakon. He proposed to him his idea of sailing at sea killing orcs, uruks, and goblins. Quite intrigued by this idea, and a slight excitement of seeing the ocean/sea he accepted and traveled alongside Haakon. He fought with him in a famous battle at the Golf Isles.
