Leo was born into a poor family of 6 in Caelia on the island of Korvassa, Leo being the youngest of four boys. His father worked on the farm and earned a meager but stable living for his wife and four boys. However when Leo was 4 years old, his father died of a stomach infection, and the crop failed. Due to this he and his 3 brothers worked on the farm and where ever they could find work. Leo had an older brother John who was born a cripple, his other brothers disowned him for being a cripple, as he could not work he was just another mouth to feed. However Leo had an attachment to his older brother and spent his childhood and teenage years defending him from his brothers and bullies, which both made him violent but a good fighter nonetheless. At 15 Leo’s mother died of pneumonia, weeks later his brother John too passed. He was distraught over this, but after hearing his brothers celebrate Johns death, he was furious. Leo attacked his eldest brother, almost killing him. Leo was forced to leave home for this act of violence. He spent weeks working where he could until one day he decided he wanted more from life, and joined the Caelian army at 19.
Leo looks at the man for a while and then comes out with, “Wanderlust, but I’ll take wealth too”.
The Wealthy Man laughs at Leo briefly, “I can give you wealth depending on what you do for me..”
“What are you proposing?” asks Leo, now intrigued.
”The roads are dangerous, my caravans are often undermanned and attacked by bandits, you look like a man that could help this problem, for the right price of course..”
Leo looks to the sky and scratches his chin, “Thank you for the offer, however I have more ambitious ideas for my life”
