Jules was born to a family of Highlander peasant farmers in the Commonwealth of Kaedrin on the outskirts of Owynsburg. And from his birth, just like his two brothers and one sister, he was destined to toil in those fields. Living a quiet and peaceful life while never going ten miles from home. From his early childhood, this idea became abhorrent to Jules. At this point, he had no clue what he wanted to do instead, but he would still refuse to learn about the farm, much to the chagrin of his parents.
His goals changed in his teenage years, however, when an adventurer came to his village and he first heard the stories of the massive Elder Tree, and of ancient elven citadels high in the mountains, and of many other interesting places and history. In hearing this, he was given purpose. He began to read as many books of history and of the world of Arcas as he could, which were few in his small village. It was tough going, considering he received very little formal education, but he was able to teach himself how to read and write proficiently. Soon he realized that he could learn no more in his village. He slowly built up the courage to venture out into the world, hoping to find others who could share their stories, and maybe he could even see some of these places for himself.
Jules seems to not notice the gentleman for a few moments, his eyes wandering the bazaar. His eyes snap back to the gentleman before glancing left than right, seeing if there was anyone else he could be talking to. He points to his chest, “Who? Me? I’m looking to learn, to see the sights!”. Jules stuffs the journal he had been describing the city in, into his pack.
