Greetings applicant! Welcome to The Lord of the Craft!

Before you can begin playing on our server, you need to Apply.

The following guide is designed to walk you through that process.

    Application Rules

    • You must be at least thirteen (13) years old to join LotC. There are no exceptions to this rule.
    • You must have completely read the server rules to be accepted.
    • Your application must entirely be your own original work. Plagiarism isn’t tolerated. If you plagiarize any section of your application, you will be denied.
    • You cannot create a noble or royal character, or create a character that is friends with a noble or royal, without the permission of the player whose character’s child, or friend, you will be playing.
    • You cannot create a character that:
      • Possesses or knows the details of magic.
      • Is physically flawless or is omniscient, as these are both classified as powergaming.
    • Your Character Age must be at least 18.
      • Humans, elves, and dwarves all reach physical and mental maturity at 18.
      • Culturally, humans reach maturity at the standard 18 years, while dwarves and elves reach this at 50 with the exception of snow elves at 30.
      • Halflings reach physical and mental maturity at 33.
      • Orcs reach physical mature anywhere between 12-18, and they mentally mature at 18.
    • You can create an evil character; however, you should keep in mind that villainous characters must adhere to our villainy rules, and poor-quality villainy roleplay could lead to Moderation intervention.

    Application Guidelines

    • Remember to read all notes under each text box. Some of these include requirements for your application, helpful tips, and so on.
    • Your Character Skin should match the gender, race, and physical description (as best as possible) of your character.
    • Generally, try to keep your application free of grammar mistakes and spelling errors. We aren’t looking for perfection, but a well-written application makes the reviewing process much smoother

    Final Note

    • Check often to see if a Community Team member has reviewed your application. You will receive either an Accepted, Pending, or Denied response with a comment explaining what to do next.

Define metagaming in your own words: Metagaming is when you use information that *you* know but your character doesn't to make a decision in the roleplay. For example: I may know that the stove is on fire in the kitchen, but all my character knows is that they were making bread and left the room. If I claim that my character suddenly knows there is a fire instead of having them walk into the kitchen to find out the stove is on fire, that is Metagaming.
Define powergaming in your own words: Powergaming is when someone assumes too much power, such as creating an 'immortal' character or performing a major action without consent. It is similar to 'god-modding' in that the person takes control when they shouldn't.
    Status: Accepted

Herilissa “Lissa” Seillean (heh-rih-LISS-ah SHEH-len) was born into a family of farmers in the Kingdom of Norland. She was an only child, as her mother previously had difficulty conceiving and nearly died in childbirth. She never minded being alone, since she was busy helping around her family's farm the moment she could walk on her own. Her father's family had been working their land for generations, and she was groomed to take it over when it was her time. Her mother was originally from Hanseti-Ruska, but rarely spoke of her home. Nothing about her upbringing was particularly exciting, as it consisted mostly of chores and lessons on how to keep their animals and crops. Young Lissa, however, longed for adventure. She spent any spare time she had playing with the other local children and reading the copy of "The Lands Beyond" her father gifted to her, imagining how thrilling her life would be if she were to go on an epic journey like in her book.

When she was nine, Lissa was playing with some other children in the woods, pretending to be one of the heroes of their little adventure. One of the older children climbed a tall tree, acting as the great dragon they were meant to slay. It only took one wrong move for the boy to slip from his branch and fall to his death in front of their little group. The experience left Lissa traumatized, terrified to leave the safety of her family's farm. She gave up her dreams of adventure and instead focused on the farm and her ordinary life.

When Lissa was 17 her mother died after falling mysteriously ill, and at 20 her father was killed in a farming accident. This left Lissa to run the farm on her own, with only a few neighbors helping when they could. She rarely makes trips outside of her home, but will on occasion to acquire supplies or new livestock. Lissa is also currently trying to figure out a way to efficiently cultivate Tippens Root, hoping to create a steady supply for local healers, apothecaries, and alchemists.

How would you define roleplay, and have you ever roleplayed before?: I have been roleplaying on various platforms since 2003. It is a chance to be someone what I could never be, whether that someone is a super powerful cosmic entity or just me but with more confidence. It is a chance to live a life you never got to live and can be very therapeutic.
Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense?: I am relatively new to Minecraft Java (I've been playing on console for years) so some of the terminology is a bit confusing, but I hope to learn quickly and have no problem asking along the way.
Character Name: Herilissa Seillean
Character Race: Human
Character Gender: Female
Character Age: 21
Physical Description: Around 5'6" and about 140lbs, medium build, long blonde hair, blue eyes, pale skin, wears light dresses to make movement easier, of Highlander descent
Personality Traits/Quirks: Lissa is independent and determined, sweet and kind, and loves helping others. However, when in a group, she struggles to stand up for herself and is often ignored.
What is your character’s biggest fear? What caused them to develop this fear?: Heights. She watched someone fall from a great height as a child and it scarred her for life. She still has nightmares of falling from the sky.
What does your character like most about themselves? Why?: Lissa is very proud of her baking abilities. They help calm her and remind her of her family. She also loves seeing people enjoy the things she makes.
What does your character dislike most about themselves? Why?: Her own body. She was teased as a child for being too lanky and clumsy and disproportionate. Even though she has properly grown into herself, she still hates looking in the mirror.
Roleplay Scenario:

Lissa could feel herself relax the moment her foot touched the docks. After spending so long on a boat, solid ground felt like heaven. The blonde adjusted her satchel and looked around at the port. She'd be lying if she said this wasn't even slightly thrilling. Here she was, little Lissa Seillean, on an adventure across the sea! She took her first step toward the bustling bazaar, ready to begin her meager quest, when a man blocked her path. Her hands gripped the strap of her satchel, cautiously eyeing the well-dressed gentleman up and down. He didn't seem too bad. A little nosy, sure, but not maliciously so. Perhaps he could even help her.

Mustering up her friendliest smile, Lissa looked up at the man. "Thank you, I'm thrilled to be here," she replied, her voice soft and almost melodic. The young woman reached into her bag and rifled around, eventually producing a small piece of parchment. "Oh, no, nothing quite as exciting. I'm actually looking for a particular stall. Maybe you could point me in the right direction?" Lissa held out the note, which read "Sid's Seeds, Soil, and Saplings" as well as the name of the city.
