Elodie Abbot is a young woman who, up until this point, has led a fairly average life.
She was born into a family that is somewhere in between middle class and upper middle class. Her father is a merchant and her mother is a housewife, and she is their oldest child. She was born and raised at her family's home in the countryside of the Orenian Empire. Due to her father having to travel to the city frequently for business, Elodie is much closer to her mother. Elodie did well in school, but . Her parents have always hoped she would take over the family business one day, and so she was taught etiquette in preparation for this.
Elodie had a small group of close friends, who often played together. Many of them are now moving away, setting down, or starting their careers.
Elodie is taking a "gap year" before she takes over the family business. She is quite unsure if she really wants to go into business, and could possibly consider other options. Though, of course, her parents also see this as an opportunity for her to find someone to settle down with, but she isn't interested in marriage.
Elodie, like the rest of her family, is deeply religious. Canonism played a large role in developing her morals and values when she was young. If she decides business simply isn't for her, it would be quite easy to see her becoming a nun. As for her gap year, Elodie is simply happy to take in the sights, and explore the city of Providence.
Elodie would politely smile at the man, and respond with; "Good sir, I am here to find that out myself. Though, I suppose the closest answer I could give you is adventure."
The gentleman nodded in response, and introduced himself. Afterwards, the two would shake hands.
Once the introductions were over and Elodie, or, as the gentleman had referred to her, Miss Abbot, had managed to figure out where she should go first, Miss Abbot asked the man for directions, which the gentleman kindly gave her.
And, off she went.
