Thebai is a young wood elf born in Arcas in 1708, when his parents migrated there. He spent his younger years in the Forest Realms of Irrinor hidden away with a small community of peaceful wood elves. Sadly, his mother died on the way over, in a small malicious spat between members of different nations.
Thebai is marked by a secret childish wonder for life and all that it is. He is careful to express emotion, having been taught by his father it was looked down upon to do so, but his eyes are always sparkling.
Thebai had an unusual childhood. Sadly, wood elves are usually free spirits, and have a great sense of community, but Thebai was born and raised by his mysterious father, a renegade wood elf, who had a knack for helping even more mysterious and brooding beings than himself, commit acts of treachery. His father was bitter at the cruel world, for taking everything he had including, Thebai’s mother, away from him. Thebai’s father hated watching everyone partaking in such peaceful worship, happiness, nature, and culture, and he also hated the pompous connections of the High Elves. He was bitter to watch others connect and find meaning while he had no reason to live. His father deserted his peaceful, nature loving kin one night, taking along young Thebai. He misused knowledge and magic, and had turned his back on even their Gods. He took solace in traveling with his son, causing mishaps to the common people wherever he went, but had no will to do it himself, so helped those who meant harm prevail.
Thebai and his father were inseparable, and Thebai was taught to follow in his father’s footsteps. He wasn’t allowed to explore his own interests and his love of nature, music, arts, and hunting. His father had forced him in adolescence to commit heinous acts, the guilt of which he carries to this day as he wanders through the kingdoms and realms, aimless, looking for a place to finally call home.
Having rid himself of his father once and for all, his goal is now to give to others endlessly, in any shape or form, whether it be a helping hand or a word of advice, he seeks enlightenment, and is internally driven by repentance.
Thebai looks the man directly in the eye with a calm competence. “An adventure? Absolutely.”
He pauses, adjusting his cloak. “Im not one to worry about status, but I respect that folks here are very status driven.”
