    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Using knowledge you gained OOC in an RP situation. For Example, Sally meets John, John is a criminal but Sally's character doesn't know this but Sally does OOC. If Sally would call the guards on john In character for being a criminal that would be meta.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: The best way I could describe power gaming would be doing an unrealistic action within the context of roleplay, generally to give yourself an advantage. Example; J declares that he instantly kills S. Without giving any attempt for a response from S

Born into a wealthy family of successful merchants in Carolustadt as the youngest of three. Rene Bataille was trained to run the family business with his two brothers since he could remember. Learning the ropes of the mercantile industry. Soon it became a deeply rooted passion of Rene to study the flow of money through the economy of the Empire of Man. His family lived quite comfortably and all was peaceful until the passing of his father.
However, his father did pass without a will. This lead to discourse within his family about who will receive the fortune created by his father's trade. From this Rene passion for studying the flow of currency turned into bitter hatred for it. Watching his brothers Turn to greed, fighting each other desperately for the inheritance. Soon he was left with nothing but the clothes his father had left him with.

Now almost penniless Rene still resides in Carolustadt, preaching against the concept of currency the great corruptor of man. Declaring his love for humanity and believing that all man are equal. and that currency shall not define a humans worth. Preaching this he hopes to rally the people of Carolustadt for change.

Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
