    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: To avoid powergaming, only stick to things that would be in your characters skillset and experience range and be respectuful of other peoples abilities
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming disrupts fair roleplay because it breaks the line between what you know as a player and what your character would actually know. If you use information your character hasn’t realistically learned in-game—like things you heard out of character or saw in a chat—it gives you an unfair advantage and takes away from the experience. It can ruin surprises, mess up storylines, and stop other players from having their own moments to discover things. Roleplay is meant to be immersive and fair for everyone, and metagaming takes away from that.

Physical Description: White hair, red eyes, 5'4, around 60kg, wears a formal wear as they used to work as a servant for a household.
Roleplay Scenario:

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"Good afternoon, ma'am. I was hoping to find a place to stay for the night." I stood tall, maintaining proper posture as I gave a respectful bow. "Would there happen to be a room available for purchase?" I brushed a lock of white hair from my eyes and gently placed a small bag of coins on the bench. "I can assure you, I'm well-mannered—I've spent years working in noble households. You will not have an issues from me. I'm traveling through hoping to find a new place to call home.

Hi there! Your application has been put on pending as there are changes that need to be made before you can be accepted. See below. 

 

  • I like the way your backstory is going but it needs a lot of work, firstly there are multiple grammatical issues such as using the wrong there/their/they're!

 

  • Additionally, try to avoid explaining your backstory in your emotes but instead through dialogue, I.e. where you said "*they speak very softly and very well mannered something they picked up while working in various households" you'd really want to say that in character for example: Altherim spoke softly "I can assure you I'm good mannered- I have worked in various manners as staff for some time." Overall the idea is to create the sense of what your character is like, rather than trying to explain it 'out of character' as it were.
