Siegmund was born to noble parents of some far-off lordship in a land that he himself cannot quite remember. From his own recollection, Siegmund had a relatively pleasant childhood, learning the basics of swordplay from his father, whom he held the utmost respect for. However, at a young age, he was kidnapped by a group that opposed his father's rule, and held in captivity by them for several years. Though he held a strong disliking for his captors, the boy was treated quite well during his imprisonment for reasons that he cannot quite understand. Nonetheless, he still seized his opportunity to escape once it arose, but found himself completely lost once he had achieved that goal. Now, confused and disoriented, he sets out on a journey whose only objective is to reunite with his family - while becoming the man that they would be proud to meet along the way.
What Siegmund does not know is that his family was one of tyrants who subjected their people to years of suffering. The boy himself was not exposed to such unsightliness, however, and was treated with the utmost care, receiving a proper education at the most prestigious school in the area. The group that kidnapped Siegmund, though he assumes them to be mere brigands after his family's power, are actually a resistance group created to dismantle his family's oppression. The reason that he was raised so well by the resistance group is because they felt sympathy for him and saw light in his noble heart, especially after his father made absolutely no attempts to reclaim the boy.
Should Siegmund ever reunite with his family, it is prophesied, it would result in a struggle between his loyalty and morality, which would result in either the eternal extension of his house's reign of terror, or the long-awaited end of it.
