Born in a small village in Renatus to a (at the time) retired soldier of a father, and a baker of a mother. His father, having been a scout in the service of the Kingdom of Norland, helped the local market stay stocked with fresh food, and trying to pass the trade of hunting on to his son at an early age. However the War of Two Emperors got underway before Reinold had even turned 8, and his father was once more called to carry a sword for his king. Throughout these years, he spent more time with his mother, learning little about baking as he grew more restless, hearing stories of battles.
At 13, his father finally returned, free of any permanent damage. Not long after his return, Reinold asked his father to teach him what all he knew, eager to learn how to fight. So his later teenage years were spent learning, and spending a lot of times in the woods, both with his father and by himself. Eventually, as he grew older, he grew more restless, eager to see the world with his own eyes and to fight his own battles. He stayed for a time, as his parents grew older, but once he was convinced the other kids would take care of them in his absence, he said his good byes, and went off to find his own way.
You’ve just stepped off of the boat in the port of a massive and fortified city. Before you lies a sprawling bazaar, with numerous shops, stalls, and seated traders selling wares to folk of all walks of life. Just as you’re about to continue walking onwards, into the market, you’re approached by a well-dressed gentleman who looks upon you with a big smile. “Welcome!” He began. “What brings you to this lovely city? Adventure? Wealth? Or some grand aspirations to elevate your place in society?”
How do you respond?
Reinold stops himself before he barks a dismissal towards the man, having wanted to continue about his wandering of the city, reconsidering once he notices how he didn’t have the clothes of a commoner, “I am here to see what catches my eye. All you speak of sounds like it might.” he replies, waiting for a response with a calculating look.
