No one really knows where Yamane Ishikawa is from, not even himself. He was adopted by the Ishikawa clan after one of its samurai found the baby in the forest, while on one of his missions. The clan took him in as one of their own. He was raised as one of their own, living with the samurai that found him. He was a healthy child, and at the age of 3 the samurai saw the potential in him and began training him in the ways of the Bushido and battle until he was 15. At 15, Yamane and his adoptive father went into their first battle. One of the houses of the region were being robbed and some villagers alerted the samurai. Yamane and his father both fought well, but his father ended up being killed by a robber from behind, Yamane killed the robber shortly after. But after the death of his adoptive father, the clan did not want to take Yamane back, since his father was the only person that wanted to take him in. Shortly after he was exiled from the town, and on his way out another villager spat on him, just because he was cast out of the clan, and out of anger Yamane killed him. Yamane decided to drop the Ishikawa clan name, because they had abandoned him, and decided to go by Yamane Shokan, which means redemption in his native language, because Yamane hopes to become one day, a real samurai. Yamane left Oyashima in fear of retaliation from the clan and made way for the realm of Atlas. Yamane had no money for transportation, thus forcing himself to sell his katana. After a few years he made his way to Atlas, wandering the realm. Presently he wanders around the realm looking for any work, and a new katana, hoping to be able to afford a stable life in a city.
