    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming is roleplaying, having a character inside a game to reflect a personality you would like to have. You stick to this character and only use the knowledge and abilities they have.

Linley Baruch hales from the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska, he is a highlander. His parents were poor commoners who brought him to the capital city of Reza to try and find work when he was young. Sadly around the age of 11 his parents were killed by bandits but he was taken in by a caring old man who taught him the ways of the sword and helped him learn to survive on his own. Years have passed and he is now at the age of 19, surviving on his own. Hunting monsters and game and adventuring are his current sources of income and survival. He is a seemingly average man who like many of his people enjoys playing his stringed musical instrument that he has made on his own. This is a man who would not stand out in a crowd and his ancestry is not easy to discern but his teacher told him that given his quick learning of the sword his people must have been Hanesti. Years ago when his parents were attacked and killed by those bandits it left him an untrusting person and he finds it difficult to trust new people, it also left him a damaged left shoulder, which over the years has healed but he will never master the sword with that arm. Luckily his skill has allowed him to master the sword with his right around and his strength allows him to wield a shield in his left. Linley would like to continue to adventure and grow stronger and someday he may meet those nasty men who took his family from him and slaughter them, but until then he works hard to survive.

Physical Description: An average man, around 6ft in height, shaggy shorter hair, dark brown eyes with a handsome but average face. A strong build of a normal adventurer.
Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
