You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"How forward.." Auden's eyes avoided the hag and instead followed the dancing flames. She scribbled something in a crude notebook, and continued, "If you must know, I'm from Adria. My parents always wanted me to pursue a formal education and follow in their footsteps." She stared blankly in her notebook, "Wanted isn't the right word, really, it was a requirement. I'm interested in the history of all things, but I have to study in my own way. Experiencing the culture and mechanisms of the world personally is crucial to me.". Auden looked up, and leaned back, "So I took what I could and left, didn't even say anything to them. It would cause a scene otherwise.". She paused, "I'm not headed to any specific place other than whatever has my interest at the moment. I've been fortunate enough to meet kind people along the way."
