Baldovino was born the heir to the Navarro Company in the southern regions of The Holy Oren Empire. His father, Massimo was a dedicated family man, if a little strict. While most childhood affection came from his mother, Alisandre, it was obvious to Baldovino that while it was never stated out right, Massimo cared for him in his own special way. As soon as Baldovino was old enough, Massimo began having him be educated in the ways of higher society and how to manage the company as Massimo expected Baldovino to finally expand the company beyond the township of his birth and the neighboring villages, maybe even the nearby Capital of New Providence. While his training progressed steadily, one day while he was sparring with his tutor, Baldovino made the unfortunate error of stepping on a stake that had slithered onto the training grounds. After being bitten by the snake, Baldovino was beddridden due to the snake’s poison for several months. While he would recover more or less unharmed, the leg he was bitten in, his left, would forever be weakened due to the initial effects of the poison. Once this crisis was averted, Baldovino’s education got back on track, and things were running smoothly towards him taking over the company and eventually leading it to grandeur. A celebration was held on his 18th birthday to not only celebrate the occasion of his birth, but of him officially becoming the new head of the company. For the first few years, things went very well for the company and it looked like Massimo’s investment in his son would pay off handsomely.
Unfortunately, around Baldovino’s 21st birthday, things did not go quite as planned. Baldovino’s younger brother, Severus, had been siphoning money from the company to fund an underground human trafficking ring for several years. Once the ring was uncovered by authorities, all of the Navarro Company’s assets were seized and the family was ruined. The family cut ties from Severus but due to the ruined reputation of the Navarro Company, it was too little too late. While the company did achieve several minor contracts in the attempt to restart things, Baldovino’s parents ended up being killed in a fire that burned down their home. With his home and remaining family gone, Baldovino took the last of his belongings and moved on from his home town, swearing to not only restore the Navarro name, but restart the Navarro Company and bring it back to it’s former glory.
Baldovino pauses, stumbling back slightly at the sudden appearance of the man. His eyes dart to and fro while his free hand pats at his purse to ensure this isn't an attempt to pick-pocket him. After reaching the conclusion that the man means no harm, he responds just as warmly.
"Why many thanks! I am actually a businessman of the Navarro Company. I am looking to expand my company's reach to this fine city." He gestures with his cane to the sprawling city infront of him, careful not to keep his balance and not bump the cane into the man.
"Might you have some insight as to how I could accomplish this?" Baldovino continues after settling his weight back onto the cane.
