Illythia grew up with a family of impoverished Dark Elves, namely her mother, father, and five siblings. She grew up distanced from her family, her brothers and sisters tuning themselves into the arts and reading what little they had. She herself would be abused by her parents for being so uninterested in their culture as a child, and supposedly being a waste of money and time- a leech. With this brewed in her a rage, and she would take it out on other children, being a common bully. She was fantastically smart, born with a gift of extremely strong comprehension. She read books and works of the generals of ancient wars, whenever her siblings managed to steal a copy, or she acquired one in good faith and study. She learned to read and write, and speak. But maths, arts, cultures and the like were things she did not do well at all in. She studied the works of combat in and out as often as she could, to make sure she could always stay above other children who might’ve been fierce enough to defend themselves. She blossomed into a tough character, extorting and mugging for money to keep herself, above her family, afloat. But with age, came new learnings. She learned of the common hatred for dark elves, the stereotypes. She learned of the atrocities committed against her people, and how she was merely perpetuating the stereotype of a brutish, cunning thief. She noticed it, but she had no other choice. Her lifestyle was this way, and remained it. She would begin training as a underground pit fighter, excelling in martial weapons, most frontly in Glaives. She was excellent at exhausting an enemy, and keeping them at bay with her great stamina. She was quick and extremely coordinated aswell, allowing her success with such weaponry. When handed swords and axes, she would visible struggle, unless they matched the length of at least a shortspear. With bows, she could barely aim one. With her pitfighting she gained insight on how people fought, in one on ones or in multi-person duel arenas, she would fight and learn the ins and outs of intimate combat. This went on for a very long time, becoming a honed gladiator, a champion fighter. She would eventually be spotted by just the right people. She was hired into a mercenary company, given a Sergeant rank. Through the decades in service, she would never see promotion, but heavy usage as a competent warrior and leader. She was an excellent fighter, fearless, and knew how to stir the hearts of men. She was sent in service rather recently, her troops and herself participating in The Courland Rebellion. She fought with the rebel army, being crushed early on in the war by poor leadership and cowardice among her own ranks. She was taken prisoner instead of being killed fortunately enough. She faced internment, and was treated much harsher than other prisoners- the few that there were. Things she doesn’t speak about today happened there, staying imprisoned for quite some time- time she lost track of. She would be given freedom eventually by the mercy of a man she never got to know the name of- and went back to her homeland. It all came crashing down on her at once, realizing she had her new purpose. She craved leadership, she craved battle and power. She lusted for it. However, she found deep hatred in her now centuries old torment due to her race. She found it all aligned in one- she would make it her journey then to lead her race to earn the respect it so much deserves.
