    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Doing things such as killing people off instantly or not giving someone the option to defend their character

My character is an 18 year old orphan that works metal (Armorsmith/Weaponsmith/Jeweler)  She was born into a family that practiced many types of dark magic. Her mother died when she was very young and her father had abused her. Although, he mysteriously disappeared. Tamara tries to learn everything she can, looking to find out more information about what exactly she is. In her younger days, she somehow managed to dislocate her knee, and it still gives her trouble to this day, as if she moves wrong, her knee dislocates. She’s antisocial and gets fairly stressed in situations where there are lots of other people. Over time, she would love how to use two swords, one in each hand. When she was 16, she studied many things that had happened within the Modern History of Aegis, such as The Great Collapse and how Emperor Thomgar Ironbom attempted to destroy all knowledge of the Kingdom of Urguan. She truly loves to expand her knowledge and explore, as it makes for great things to write about. The one thing that makes her try to become better as a person is her past and the events that have taken place.

Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

- The background of dark magic appears as quite an edgy quality and rather uncreative. Draakar’s Boon also no longer exists in LotC. Rather than really expanding on the aesthetic of your character, the biography appears rather choppy with little appealing detail. I recommend putting more depth in the character themselves and what truly drives them.

 

- Dark Elves cannot have any purple shades to their hair. Please amend this.
