Doupe started his career as a member of a villainous mercenary band, even though he and his then-partner and blood pact sibling, a young wood elf ranger, were exceptions. They were swords for hire that held high morals, which was considered strange within in their immediate society. After taking a job that they later discovered required them to do reprehensible things, they turned it down and ended up having to do battle with their employer later down the line. They both lost, and Doupe’s partner ended up losing her life. Doupe then abandoned his life as a lowly mercenary, and in her memory, tried to pursue something greater. At his side he always carried with him a twin set of daggers, a memento of his lost companion, who he cared for more than any friend or family. Since that day, Doupe fought in the Hanseti military throughout the years, until he decided to also be a paladin of faith, preaching the will of God, as well as His physical embodiment, the Sun. At every hour of the day, you could hear his laughs echo throughout the lands. Perhaps in order to mask his own pain and regret. 

Note: If I were to draw some parallels to make it easier to describe him, I would combine Reinhardt from “Overwatch” with Solaire from “Dark Souls”. And maybe a hint of the Justicars from “Warhammer 40k”. Don’t worry, non of these franchises, or memes associated with them, are ever going to be mentioned. Although, if there is any mention of one or two words that are associated with these entities, then it is purely unintentional and out of coincidence.
