Born to a common woman in Carolustadt and never knowing a father, Letho grew up in the slums along with other whoresons, beggars and dregs of human society. He joined a street gang at the age of 12, learning to steal food and fight with just his fists. He still has many sore memories of that time, often being beaten within an inch of his life by other gangs, or the City Guard. He’d been growing further apart from his mother as he grew up until eventually she grew sick and died when he was 16. Now that his last tie to the city was gone, and he could pass for a man now, he joined the Imperial Military and served for a year.

 

Letho didn’t like taking orders so freelance mercenary work sounded like a better fit for him, he knew how to swing a sword now, so he was sure he could convince the common man that he knew what he doing. He’s spent the rest of his life up to this point travelling the human kingdoms taking work where he can find it (more often than not it ends up being manual labour rather than mercenary work). It doesn’t pay much but Letho enjoys the freedom, and sometimes that’s enough.

 

Letho was never given a surname nor did his mother have one, but he uses “Rivers” or “Waters” as an alias if necessary. Despite serving in the Imperial Army and calling himself a mercenary, Letho has never taken a life.

Physical Description: His most striking feature is his ginger hair, everything else about him is rather bland; grey eyes, faded clothes and dirty but fair skin.
Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

  • Keep in mind that in LOTC, the major mention of powegaming comes in the form of power-emoting. Players who refuse to roll dice in chance events, or play fair, are the main perpetrators. WIth that in mind, your definition isn’t wrong.
  • Prostitution is against the rules of LOTC. Being from a mother with such a background is fine, but I’d ask you reword that piece of your story. Instead, perhaps use something like “born to a common mother, and to a father who is unknown.”
  • The only real mention of the lore of the server is that of Carolustadt. At nineteen, the charatcer has seen a map change- there are plenty of other little details that could be added.
  • Whilst not mandatory, a surname would be welcomed. Surely even his mother had one? If not, something like stone might work in place.
  • The positive in your interesting facts is less of a personality trait, and more of a piece of his person. Consider something positive about his personality instead.

I’ve changed it. I wasn’t sure what to add lorewise, the wiki seems pretty barebones and confusing.

Something as simple as more names of cities. Perhaps referencing leaders that existed at that time, or races. Just something generic works. But the wiki is very full and busy, so it’s entirely understandable.

 

Otherwise, you’re looking good to go.
