Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"Ma story?", Kiraggi scoffs and reveals a mischievous grin, "Wouldn't you loike to know."
"The names Kiraggi Ketell and you're in the presence of a great, Kaz'Ulrah scholar!" they proclaim, extending their arms in a bow.
Kiraggi begins pacing the room. "Any dwedmar worth his jewels can wield a pickaxe. Foinding metal, bashing rubble... that 'ole lots trivial... There are lots o' thengs more precious than gold, you know!?", they ramble, almost to themselves. "Loike what runes can bind metal! Which direction the wind favors in a forest?.. Or- or which minerals shine the brightest in moonlight?"
They stop pacing. "Stuff like that-", they chuckle, pointing to their head, "- now, that's really precious. Knowledge. It can turn coal into diamonds, scrap into golems...", shrugging, they gesture to themselves, "Miners into scholars."
"It was knowledge that saved the Starbreaker Clan.", they assert, inspired. "And it will be knowledge that saves me from a loife of mediocrity."
