Taslo can trace his family's ancestry back to the peasants, guardsmen and worksmen, of the Duchy of Drusco, now since long gone in this current age. Being an only child, he grew up in small farming village within the Empire of Man, and was put to work in the fields with his father at a young age. His family is not noble-born or could claim such from their ancestry; they are peasants that work on the fields in a town in the Empire. The local guards or soldiers sought his involvement when he turned old enough, and both his father and mother insisted he pursue a more 'military' career, and pursue his dream of one day being knighted and joining the empire's knight ranks. Under the tutelage of his mentor in the farming village's local militia, he became reasonably adept with the blade, and while not pivotal of a role, helped to stave off bandits and dangerous beasts. One winter, his mother had grown ill from sickness and unfortunately passed away. His father moved closer towards family in the capital of the Empire, and offered his son to come with if he so wished. Taslo had declined at the time, and helped to protect the village for another season. All the while, training more and donning armour akin to his ancestry so he may feel closer to his mother. Then, he turned his sights towards the Empire to maybe meet again with his father, or more likely, finally pursue his dream of working to become a knight of the realm.
The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

Taslo wasn't sure what to make of the elderly woman, and the shack where within there were candles aloft with naught a trace of what held them there. Silently, beneath his visor as his eyes surveyed the run-down shack, he'd wonder aloud, "..Where is everyone?" Yet, perhaps the most unnerving, save for the appearance of the hag and whatever strange magics she may wield, was what she had said. She was expecting me? he'd think to himself. Perhaps, on this elder's face, he could discern whether truly she was familiar with him or if she was making some manner of jest. The offer to sit after a long day of walking was certainly welcoming, especially as—one could imagine of someone living in an abandoned town—the faint smell of a stew brewing wafted into his visor. Taslo would steel himself against this onslaught of temptations. His journey to become a knight and reunite with his widowed father would very well end here were he not careful with this unusual stranger. And while he briefly thought of subduing the elder or otherwise ensuring his safety in this auspicious meeting, he knew not what magics she may wield, and whether or not she may be possessed or a guised demon. Growing up, he'd rarely have seen magics on display, and thus did not know how much he could trust this woman despite her age. No, he would not die or be fooled this day. Instead, he briefly dipped his head to her, stomach growling and armour and pack weighing heavily on him. "I must be going," the utterance came from beneath his helm, as he turned to leave. Taslo walked down the path, the afternoon sun bearing down on him as he made a decent pace forwards. Abandoned village, one inhabitant, looks like a hag? Not today.
