Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
“Oh, you’ve been expecting me? That’s a first.” He grins crookedly, brushing a few damp leaves from his shoulder as he crouches onto the cushion. "Most people just expect trouble when I walk in — and to be fair, they’re not always wrong.”
He leans forward, eyes bright despite the gloom. “Name’s Zeith. Once from a place so green the air itself sang, though I couldn’t tell you where to find it anymore. There was a tree — a big one, biggest you’ve ever seen — and then there was a fall. Next thing I know, I’m waking up miles away with a headache and half a memory.”
He plucks a small clover from his satchel, rolling it between his fingers. “Since then, I’ve been wandering. Fixing broken bones, curing bad luck, getting into more trouble than I probably should. There’s a curse on me, I think — something old and sticky, fogging up the bits of my mind that matter most. But that’s alright. Gives me a reason to keep walking.”
He smiles again, softer this time. “So that’s my story, old one. I heal where I can, laugh where I shouldn’t, and chase the unknown like fireflies in the dark. Maybe I’ll find my way home one day. Maybe not. But until then—” he taps the clover against his temple with a wink, “—there’s always another way forward.”
((To be more explained in detail in the text below, for my character does suffer from a form of memory loss. Yes, I know that can be difficult to roleplay with, but I'm ready for whatever it takes and as I have roleplayed before I am ready to do it fairly and with precaution.
Born beneath the roots of the great Tree, Zeith hails from the Seed of Yggdrasil — one of the old nomadic tribes who, long ago, followed the whispers of the Aspects deep into the untouched wilds. There, they discovered the colossal Tree of Life, its presence radiant and ancient. They made their home around it, swearing to protect and cherish its spirit for all ages to come.
Zeith was ever the restless one, a spark of mischief among the solemn guardians. From his youth, he was drawn to the small wonders of the forest — to the whisper of leaves, the pulse of roots, the intricate patterns of fungi and clover. His curiosity often outweighed his caution, yet his gift for healing and understanding life’s delicate balance made him beloved by his kin. He studied the forest’s flora and fauna with a keen mind, blending science and instinct to tend to wounds both of flesh and spirit.
One day, driven by childish daring or divine curiosity, Zeith climbed to the highest reaches of Yggdrasil’s boughs in search of a rare clover said to grow only where sunlight touched the Tree’s crown. The branch gave way, and he fell — far, and hard. When he awoke, the forest was unfamiliar. The voices of his Seed were gone, his memory fractured like shattered bark. He wandered, the echo of his home fading to mist, his mind shrouded by a curse he cannot name nor undo.
Years have passed since. Zeith now roams the realms as a wandering healer — a free spirit with laughter in his voice and dirt on his hands. Though his thoughts drift like leaves on wind, his heart remains steady. He aids those in need without question, defies the cruel without hesitation, and seeks the mysteries the world hides away. Beneath his easy grin lies a quiet ache — a yearning for the Tree he lost, and the truth buried within his forgotten past.
He still carries clovers in his satchel, and mushrooms in his pockets. Some say the wind that follows him smells faintly of home, whatever that may mean to them.))
((P.S. Excited to hear your thoughts and get to play with you moderator *pinches cheeks consensually* :P ))
