    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: saying the your character did something to another player without considering the possibility of failure, effectively letting you do whatever you want

Growing up in the City of Ves, Fred had always wanted to be a warrior and would take any chance he could to learn to fighting techniques. This was difficult for him though because his family was heavily pacifistic and would not support his “violent ways.” This made it especially difficult for him to practice his martial arts because he had no one to do it with. So when the War of the Two Emperors came about, he knew this was his chance to fulfill his lifelong dream. One night, Fred ran away from home lied about his age to ensure his recruitment and then before he knew it he was already on his way to battle. But while he was charging into battle he fell, hit his head on a rock and then lost consciousness. When he came to he had a serious case of amnesia and forgot who he was. Fredrick made his way to the nearest town. With the advice he received after talking with the locals, he made his way to the Cloud Temple.

Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

Ø The War of the two emperors happened eleven years ago, this would make you seven at the time. It is unrealistic for you to be able to lie about your age to be pretend your an adult, when you’re seven. Now you can easily fix this by increasing your age!
