    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming is using information outside of what your character would know to your advantage. This also includes contacting friends etc to get help when, for example, getting attacked.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Powergaming is when a character does something it would realistically not be able to do. The most usual form in roleplaying is deciding for someone else what happens to their character. An example would be "Jake sliced off Davids hand" instead of typing "

Lawéin has lived in Linandria for as long as he can remember. He had a joyful time growing up, learning to use a bow and chasing squirrels. He was an outgoing elf and found it easy making friends in most parts of the town. This quickly changed after his mother disappeared one night. His father didn't seem to be bothered looking for her, so he took it on himself to do so. This was the beginning for his nightly adventures. Even though he didn't know if she was still in town, if she was even still in Irrinor, he kept looking. Sadly he became more and more isolated since he was too tired to socialize during the day. Once his father found out, enraged and saddened by his nocturnal endeavors, he stopped looking. Although, this didn't stop the thoughts that his mother could be out there somewhere. Eventually as the years went by he has coped somewhat with his probable loss and regained most of his earlier energy. On the other hand he's still relatively introverted. Although, this is not because he's shy, but because he's lost in thought most of the time. From fear of losing his father he's now the most ambitious and hard working he's ever been. He also joined the Terin seed, since they highly value family just like him. Interestingly enough, curiosity is still getting the best of him; and I think you can guess why.

Character Age: 25
Physical Description: Lawéin is a relatively young elf full of energy. He's hungry for adventure; adventure usually finds him.
Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
