Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

My initial story idea for my character idea before knowing it was supposed to be a response to something was; Bthuren of the Ilethgar family, hails from the Dwarven city of Deepkin. Jarl Garimm's disliking of the nearby Orc tribe, ThrokMaw, and his negative actions towards them, was something Bthuren was very much uncomfortable with and against. But rather than hear his reasoning for making peace with the Orcs, the Jarl saw Bthuren's words as questioning his orders and decrees, labeling him as a traitor. Jarl Garimm sent for Bthuren to be rooted out and brought before him for "judgment", but Bthuren slipped away from Deepkin before he could be found. He attempted to make his way towards New Hillfair, but due to the Sentinels of Faith's activity on the roads (and their known disliking towards Dwarves), Bthuren had to pivot. Knowing his opinions likely are in peaceful relation with the ThrokMaw tribe's ideals, he went to them seeking refuge, which they obliged to.
