In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming is acting as if your character has some sort of out-of-the-ordinary powers that do not exist in the lore.
In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Powergaming is similar to metagaming, from what I understand.

Axis Spectre: Bruised and Bold

T'was the middle of June as the armies of Morder ran amok in their annual raiding parties. The current lord of Mordor, Alshfarr, was searching for an heir to the house of Mordor. Although Alshfarr was not of any traditional Mordorian heritage, being a high elf was considered one of the wisest roles possible to fill the vacancy during Mordor's most unstable times. He had no partner whom would bear his child, so he ordered his generals to search the nearby towns, to find the biggest breasted woman they could see. They eventually found a woman named Aria Bravintale, who was then forcefully married to Lord Alshfarr, from which they conceived an infant male. Aria was a dwarf, so the traits of her strong, large body were passed onto her son. They named him Axis, for the alignment of the stars; and Spectre, the name of Alshfarr's father. Bearing the child of a high elf was no easy task, as Aria passed on the twenty fifth of March, the year after the raiding parties. This was only a month after Axis was born. She was rather ill after Axis was born, and her father expected her death and accepted it as an inconvenience.

Alshfarr was no compassionate father. He ran his house the same way he ran his kingdom; with a fist made of topaz and a heart made of ice. He had come from a long line of elvish nobility, so it wasn't much surprise to how he raised his young. About two months after Axis's first birthday, his father stated that he had heard the words of god. According to text, god had told him to take his first borne son and burn him in the highest flowing peak in the lava of Mordor. If he was to do this, god said to Alshfarr he would be granted immortality.  Alshfarr did as god requested, only to see that it was actually the alchemist of Mordor trying to get him to kill his son. The reasoning behind this is that the alchemist, Tron Yale, was a member of the Yale faction his family had founded fifty years prior. The Yale faction strongly opposed the sovereignty of Alshfarr's house, and he was no fool to not know this. Fortunately the priest of the elves from the holy forest owed Alshfarr a very hefty loan, and agreed to rebirth his son as a being of magma. Not literal magma, although if you touch him you will find that he is rather warm all the time.ain

After Axis's father was killed in battle against the hobbit-dwarf-elf alliance, Axis was given to his uncle, Luokk. His uncle was a half elf, so he was hellbent on training Axis in swordsmanship and archery. His uncle's wife, Maria, was quite experienced in magic. He was a very fortunate boy, as his education was top tier in the human territories. At the age of seven, he took his first life. It was the life of Halvis Seeree, the chief of a local tribe near their encampment.

Axis now roams the lands of the planet, seeking eternal knowledge and power. He wishes to become the strongest, smartest, and talented noble ever seen.
