General Description_
Name: Solaine Esperania
Age: 22
Status: Boundless Knight
Subtype: Heartlander
Height: 5’9
Build: Slender/Muscular, with defined muscles on her abdomen and arms from working.
Appearance_
A rather pretty looking girl, at first glance. She keeps her hair done into a short bob, framing (and hiding) her face, including much of the bad scar that covers the right side of her body. Her armor covers most of it, but the scar (from burns) travels over her forehead, down the side of her face, over her neck, across her collarbone, and over her shoulder. She has a serious, hard look to her, and many feel uncomfortable looking or staring for too long. Solaine’s armor is sturdy in wear. She wears pants, like a man might, and many heartlanders find this unnerving. A long, flowing white cape give her the appearance of having wings when the wind blows just right. She’s a tall woman, with long legs that look like kicking machines.
History_
Solaine was born and raised by a blacksmith, and veteran of the Dasoguz Holy war. As such, she’s quite handy with tools, though its not what she’s fond of. this is also from whom she gained a stoic demeanor, at first. They lived, for a while, at Presa de Madera. Here, her mother the blacksmith met a quiet, gentle artist. The artist became Solaine’s step father, once her mother married him, and he taught her the gentler side of life, showing her how he painted and sold his art to taverns, libraries, and private homes.
Solaine experienced an accident when she was 16 years of age. She was with her step-father at a tavern, helping him to hang up a portrait, when one of the furnaces exploded. the building was evacuated, but Solaine went back inside, filled with heroic foolishness, to try and save her father’s painting. a wood beam, covered in flames, fell from the rafters and onto her, giving her the scars that now mar her face to this day. She was rescued by a Guardsman of the town, carried free from the smoldering tavern. Because of this, to this day, she has a high respect for the law. She still reminisces, though its a painful memory, of the guard. She hopes to one day meet him and thank him properly for saving her life.
After this, her father and mother had a falling out. She moved back out to the wildlands with her mother, leaving her father behind in the bustling Presa de Madera. After the accident, and angered by her own foolishness, Solaine tried to lose herself to work. One day, she heard her mother calling for her from the house. However, she was angered after a dispute earlier, so she ignored her. When she returned that evening, she found, to her horror, her mother laid upon the floor, dead. She had suffered a heart attack, and had tried to call Solaine for help.
Solaine was devastated by this, and thus, took up her training once more, losing herself into learning how to wield a sword. The event unsettled her deeply, and she grew cold and distant. To this day, she travels the lands, settling down sometimes for a short while before inevitable moving on. She’s not sure what she’s looking for, but it feels to her as if she’s lost something.
Personality_
Solaine is stoic and serious, rarely getting worked up or angered. She keeps a calm persona about her, even-tempered when everyone else around her may be losing their heads. She’s also known for a level of detatchment and coldness. One time she by chance came upon two young woman arguing viciously over a man, both of whom he had been seeing romantically. She had approached, and offered quite calmly to cut the man in half so that they both could have a even share of him. One woman fainted dead away, the other flew into a spitting rage at her. The man? well, she supposes he turned tail and ran from his mistresses.
She has few friends, and trouble making them, preferring to stay serious and cool-headed rather than becoming vulnerable to someone.
