  1. Χριστός ἀνέστη !

Happy Easter to all Gregorian friends, Christ will come again and His enemies will tremble at the sight!

"His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns ... He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:

    KING OF KINGS AND
    LORD OF LORDS."

  2. "This would not be an Empire, but a loose confederation of humanity. Too busy navel gazing about the rights of man, the many; the base desires of the stomach. A true Empire would make the few look upwards and ascend, on the backs of the many! " Leopold exclaimed to his Salvian friends as he read the letter. "Besides, it'd be absurd to give the seat of Haense, a mighty realm, the same vote as lowly Hyspia for example."

  3. fantasy settings are far more compelling when the tenets of interaction are firmly grounded in realism. you must accept that even fictional characters can be not-nice and that you threaten the credibility of the server's setting if you mandate acceptance of something people want to otherwise not accept. People are not nice sometimes and we are trying to roleplay people, with all their warts and boils. The setting becomes far smaller if you sterilise independent opinion for the sake of people disliking some thoughts and not others.

I heard from a different source that being gay isn't even banned by canonism, people just want it to be banned, so they rp it being banned.

Being homosexual or having homosexual feelings is not banned in canonism, only homosexual marriage (currently).

shouldn't we then ban any sexually/romantically charged rp on the server then because the minors ? (I'm for this btw)

Also, roleplaying a noble isn't going to offend anyone nor cause problems

Why do you suppose so, it hurts my escapism when I'm reminded of my low birth irp. You may laugh at that but why is that not a legitimate grievance?

Why is class a real life discrimnation that's integral and others not?

  6. the argument for banning prejudice because lotc is escapism is wrong because a lotc is (or should be) a narrative/story-telling medium, not a base escapist fantasy. If you'd actually be consequent in the escapism line of thinking it'd be perfectly logical to ban any differences that exist in real life like class and ethnic group, because the existence of these would lead to discrimination and thus prejudice. It'd be in fact imperative to ban these distinctions to protect all groups that could experience prejudice.

I think @argonianalready touched on this but why shouldn't we ban these if this server is a means of escapism from rl prejudice?

My key reasoning for this is that it is not disallowed within the Scrolls

"Now my knowledge of the Scrolls is quite rusty, but theft I think is not explicitly disallowed by it. To think that by absence of the explicit prohibiton of theft, it is allowed to steal by Scripture would be ridiculous. The claim for men being allowed to bed other men should be substantiated by other arguments besides this one." Leopold mused, he went tot he Salvian archives to research the principle of Mutatis Mutandis afterwards.

Leopold Ludolfson read the missive, and failed to see the issue "A woman was cured of her vampyrism and complains about this...?" He pondered whilst sipping his Salvian roast coffee.

There they crammed me into a room where I was squished between a small cot and a cold iron door for what felt like hours. During that time I repeated

  9. Leopold was enjoying a nice afternoon with his fellow scholars on the beaches of Atheran Salvus. He refilled the glasses of those present with Salvian sparkling wine and lifted a Gillardeau Oyster to his mouth.

"And I told him guys... 'Your Majesty, if you seek prosperity, if you seek liberation: Come here to this gate! Majesty, open this gate! Majesty, tear down this wall!'"

The entourage laughed in unison, basking in the afternoon rays from the sun, before slurping the oysters.

Is that not what happened when Frill got banned for reporting KP? Same imgur links, same screenshots as were used in the report that actually got KP banned. Wrong person at the wrong time or ..?

  11. Leopold of Salvus mused upon the letter, he rocked back and forth in his chair as the fireplace is lit by the Salvian maid. He'd put his coffee down on the little table in front of the chair , he'd turn to his fellows of the Royal Salvian Academy.

"The perfidious Ruthern, an interesting volk. Verily, nothing is holy to them. The Faith in Gott through our Mother Church, only a tool to justify war against a peaceful and recluse pagan kingdom. When the Ruthern doesn't get his way, he throws a tantrum, in typical fashion for his kind, and points towards just Barclay "But Venerable Georg conquered Sutican pagans, why can't we!", completely missing the point that Venerable Georg, as an existing vassal to the Venerable Corwin von und zu Alstreim and his Holy son Ottomar, reconquered Sutica for Canonicate society after Alstreim's failure to peacefully convert the Sutican. It is obivous the Ruthern has no heed for the Faith, no attempts at conversion had been made, no effort or official sanction by His Holiness, only pure realpolitik and opportunism, through which he signifies his lack of piety.

The Ruthern cares not for King either, to my knowledge no sanction was given, his abuse of the feudal contract with his liege lord would pull His Majesty into a war he himself never wanted. The Ruthern will say: "But Haensemen intervened in Sutica!". Yes indeed, Haeseni soldiers were a driving force in the reconquest of Sutica, yet this was explicitly allowed by the King. His rule and superiority was not subverted in any way by the righteous cause to canonize Sutica.

His manipulative tongue and deceitful smile, his frail passive-aggresiveness has, as evidenced by this letter, brought upon disgust of all sensible Lords of the Realm. Dreading that they share rank with men that hold neither Gott or King in high regard. A pale reflection of the Waldenian Sutican cause, which had the respect and consent of both. To this he is doomed, playing eternal catch-up with the bringer of civilization, the builder of nation and state, the maintainer of Church and Gott's dominion. It is an establishment in the modern form of the ancient spirit of his kind: man without tradition, that in its social mysticism, in the predominance of pathos over ethos, of instinctivity over rationality.

    This is his plight."

  12. It's kind of mad that what is keeping frill of this server is just a personal vendetta by some admin(s) against him, even though he has put in more work for the server safety than these same admins (whilst banned!). It's messed up that known pests like leowarrior were allowed back on the server with unregistered alts, an exception to the rule, to continue playing, whilst friller is blogposting about keeping vulnerable players of our community safe from a vpn because he can't otherwise.

    Big case of butthurt

  13. As the RSS Victory of Ceru docks on the southern shores of Almaris, an envoy is sent out to Calliope Renata. The young boy arrives, tired of his journey, he leans on his knees whilst panting heavily. He raises his boney hand towards Calliope, within it a letter bearing the seal of Barclay. "Father Leo told me to deliver this with haste" the boy murmured whilst catching his breath.

    To the Honourable Fraulein Calliope Renata von Alstreim , greetings;

Father Leopold Barclay von Reinmar, bound by oath to serve our Holy Father and His Flock until death, has recieved your letter with great delight. Your progress in translating the Rex Perpetus is truly commendable. The knowledge barred behind our beautiful but inaccessible language should be barred no more for all the peoples of our Flock.

The Royal Academy of St. Ottomar is thoroughly impressed by your work. I will demand the rector allocate a bigger share of florins to your mission. We await more of your works.

PS. Besides the obvious truth spoken by our Majesty in Perpetuity, the parable also struck me as exceptionally funny.

In religion, a prophet is an individual who is regarded as being in contact with a divine being and is said to speak on behalf of that being, serving as an intermediary with humanity by delivering messages or teachings from the supernatural source to other people.

How Glorious Is Our Lord in Zion (Anthem)

    POTENTIA ECCLESIAE

ON THE MIGHT OF OUR HOLY MOTHER CHURCH IN RECENT TIMES

“‘And with the third son of spirit, no more shall prophet rule as king; the crown and the laurel are two in harmony, like unto Evaristus and Clement.’” (Gospel 7:60-61)

Verily it has become undeniable that our Holy Mother Church has seen a trend of declining authority in any matters besides strict theology in recent memory. One may argue that this downward trend has started since the death of High Pontiff Pontian III but I’d argue that since the Pacem In Terris of High Pontiff Daniel VI, the Church has had no significant part to play in the story of the Canonist realm. The harmony of Crown and Laurel has been disturbed in favour of the Crown in recent times. Allow me to expand upon this thought a bit further:

The most recent example is the excommunication of the Orenian Emperor and his wife who consulted azdrazi in their plot to murder the Duke of Adria, the discovery of such actions being penalized by His Holiness in “Poenitentia Incompleta” which declared those complict, that being the Emperor, his wife and the Vice-Chancellor of the Holy Orenian Empire, anathema. The proposed penance was to step down from their mandates, which it seems was too much to ask from the anathemae. The Emperor specifically seemed quite unfazed, even though he was willing to seek penance for earlier misdeeds (one may remember the walk in rags he did after the Michaelite Schism lost ground due to never gaining popular support).

It has been remarkable to witness the lack of care the laymen have shown when their secular lords have challenged the authority of the Church, especially in current times. The Emperor was able to swallow the hit to his ego by walking in rags into Karosgrad, and the populace cheered him on for doing the right thing, but obeying the Vicar of God and abdicating his position for penance is too big of a hit, and the populace’s outrage was but a mere whimper when put besides the roar of piety shown earlier. The otherwise proud and pious Orenian flock does not even lay a finger upon the anathemae; they’d rather pretend that His Holiness did not condemn them to such faith and continue to function with him and his ministers without any doubt.

Is the layman even to blame for his lazy attitude towards the Faith? It is that which I ponder, our Holy Mother Church has become an institution in function of the nations of Man it seems, gone are they days of Crusades and and Papal dictates of peace, our Church now has to pander to and garner support from the sovereigns of Man to stay afloat. The Church has no sovereign physical manifestations, no Prince-Bishops or Papal States that consolidate the authority and independence of the institution, only the Churches in the hearts of cities which, as seen in the Red Diet of Karosgrad, do not offer nearly enough solid ground for a Church true to Scripture but defiant to secular lords. The layman can’t just betray his King or Emperor that feeds, protects and houses them for an in practice distant Pontiff, it’s quite a reasonable attitude for someone who sees His Holiness as a secondary lord only dictating at the grace of the secular lord to not heed the Pontiff’s call, for in reality their devotion to God is not nearly as big as that of a man actively participating in the Church.

Therefore I find it crucial to have an autonomous geographical location in control of the Church be made, as to restore the balance between Crown and Laurel and to manifest our most Holy Church into more comprehensible and less abstract structures for the common layman.
