  1. My thoughts on the subject that I have stated multiple times is why not have a Transition period. What this would entail, would be to allow a slow evolution of firearms by way of a transition. We already know that crossbows can fire an arrow Irp, and we know of the existence of gunpowder. Maybe begin with something similar to the firelance. What this is, is a literal lance, with a tube of Bamboo, in this tube of bamboo would be filled with gunpowder, a wick, and would fire glass shards at high speeds. Much like a Glass shotgun. Work from there towards bringing flintlocks, maybe say over the course of a map, this allows events to be made to bring in the introduction of each, or to simply allow players to evolve it naturally. All in all however, I am in favor of bringing guns to LoTC.
  2. Reading, Durin grabs his sword and bow, “T’ere best naught be no serpents t’is time round.” He says with a mumble. “Alright Lads,” he says turning to the clan, “Ye all know teh drill, ye be welcome tae come along wit me.”
  3. Durin reads the paper, nodding at it while smiling he looks around the corner. “Oi! Eimar! Come look at tis! I believe we got anotta’un tae go look fer.

Durin, like his younger brother, Eimar comes from the village of Revel in the Duchy of Courland. There he was raised on the farm his parents worked at. His father, who was a very greedy man was known to horde any money he was able to get from the crops. Durin received little education, what he did learn, came from his mother who attempted to make up for his father’s shortcomings. The strained relations with his father after working in the fields came to head soon after his twentieth birthday leading to Durin packing what he could and leaving. Though his trust issues with people got in the way many times as well as his fiery temper, Durin’s ambition spurred him forward where he worked as a blacksmith in a small human village when he was thirty, eventually finding a wife. from then on until his fortieth year, Durin remained heirless as he continued his work as a blacksmith. In his fortieth year, the joyous news of a pregnancy brought happiness to Durin, eagerly awaiting his child he began to prepare for it and gain any extra cash he could. After the birth of his daughter, Durin and his wife rejoiced and held a party, young Yeknel was the joy of his life. Knowing he now must provide for his family as his father had not done before him, he began to be greedy for the betterment of his daughter. He began to travel as a merchant, selling his skills as a blacksmith for weeks on end to bring back more and more money to provide. On returning from one of his blacksmith journeys, Durin rode up the hill, to stare down upon the village he had grown to love, halfway burned to the ground. Worried as he was, riding down the hill, Durin asked the survivors if his family was safe, the answer struck him with a mighty blow. Durin’s family had been slaughtered in their home on the edge of the village in the early minutes of an Orc raid. The local militia was able to fight the orcs off eventually but not before they had slaughtered many and lit much of the town on fire. Grief stricken, Durin left the village, not wanting to believe that his family was now dead. For nearly ten years he traveled, only earning enough money with his talents he gained from working as a mercenary or a blacksmith. When he was in his seventy-forth year, he heard of a Dwarf by the name of La’Vassieur who raided his hometown of Revel, and committed many acts of banditry. This, sparking hope that he may not be alone, sparked a search for this La’Vassieur. Learning everything he could about this bandit along the way, eventually finding that the two were in fact brothers, the young bandit being called Eimar.
