What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Fire Evocation

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Fire evocation may be the most widespread voidal magic, often seen as an introductive type. It is generally most used for combative purposes due to its destructive nature, but can as well be used as an art to some. It is the summoning of fire and smoke. One must have a connection to the void to first begin learning, which can be done by a teacher. As well, anytime one casts they must have an active connection to the void; that being most often portrayed as the glowing of the eyes and perhaps the twitching of a limb. Summoned fire acts like mundane fire, with the ability to burn and scar that which touches it. Upon disconnection from the void by the magi, during spells, the fire will fall back into the void. Aesthetically, a magi controls the look of various aspects of the fire, granting no boons, but can be pleasing to the eye. Just as other voidal magics, a connection to the void takes a toll on one's body due to the strain of it. With a new connection to the void, the body will weaken over 2 OOC months, resulting in a hardship in bearing heavy arms.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

While not necessarily subsections, there are things one can do to enhance their fire. One is called combustion, the other, blue fire. Combustion is a tier 5 spell, giving a projectile an explosive aspect to it, requiring 1 additional emote to be added during casting. It can be described as air being sucked into the fire, to be made concussive. Blue fire as well adds 1 emote to the count, rendering the fire twice as hot and blue rather than orange or yellow. Blue fire is a tier 4 spell. Blue fire and combustion cannot be used at the same time, as it would cause the mage to collapse from the effort.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

Cresence sat idly in her home, lazily staring off at a barren wall. With eyes taking on a lavender hue, and some liquid of similar sort rolling down her cheeks. Placing a palm out, small embers began to form above her glove as she stared into it.

The embers gathered, a dancing flame bursting out from the clump. It took a shape, that of a little bird.

With a wave of her hand, the bird flittered about around her, giving some amusement.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

Cresence flicks Students head, waking them from a nap. “You! Teaching time, connect to the void for me.”

Student grumbles in dismay, but follows along. A crimson red glow overtakes their eyes.

Cresence snickers, sliding into a seat across from them. “Now, as I’ve shown you before, just summon some fire. Should be easy for you now. Just remember- think of the flame, the heat of it, the look, the feeling of its warmth, all those nice things. Just every aspect you can think of, ti?”

Student sighs, placing a hand out. Flaky embers formed around their shaking hand, leaving soft glows in the air around them.

The embers slowly gathered, a tiny flame sparking up in the palm. The flame dances and flickers, as if air were being blown on it.

The flame then cowers down, snuffed out with no smoke left in its wake. Student cusses, their new trick cut short by the effort.

The other hums, “Well, you tried. I’ll bring some treats as a reward next time.”

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

If in this situation the powergaming were unintended due to newly learning, I would explain what the issue was with the emote, how it was powergaming compared to regular-rp, and then ask for a re-emote.

If it were to continue even after being said, warnings on my part would be given. Should it continue even then, ST or Moderation would be contacted due to the rule breaking.

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Water Evocation

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Water Evocation can be boiled down to being one of the many voidal magics people can practice, the variation being the summoning of water and ice, respectively. One must have a connection to the void to first begin learning, which can be done by a teacher. As well, anytime one casts they must have an active connection to the void; that being most often portrayed as the glowing of the eyes and perhaps the twitching of a limb. Summoned water acts like mundane water, with the ability to soak one's clothes and be felt, although upon the disconnection from the void by the magi, the water (or ice) being casted will disappear back into the void. Aesthetically, a magi controls the look of various aspects of the water, granting no boons, but can be pleasing to the eye.

Within Water Evocation is the summoning of two types; liquid water, and solid ice. Specific spells are for water, while others are specifically for ice, though ice can be non-combatively conjured the same way water is. Water is first learnt, while the summoning of ice is learnt only after reaching tier 3 in the magic.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

Cresence sat idly in her home, lazily staring off at a barren wall. With eyes taking on a lavender hue, and some liquid of similar sort rolling down her cheeks. Placing a palm out, beads of water began to form above her glove.

The droplets took in one another, growing in size. It formed into a small ball, with beads of it tapping down onto her hand.

With a quick flick of the mages wrist, the water was flung at the wall; it did little to the stone.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

Cresence flicks Students head, waking them from a nap. “You! Teaching time, connect to the void for me.”

Student grumbles in dismay, but follows along. A light-blue glow overtakes their eyes.

Cresence snickers, sliding into a seat across from them. “Now, as I’ve shown you before, just summon some water. Should be easy for you now. Just remember- think of the water, the way it moves, it feels, looks. Just every aspect you can think of, ti?”

Student sighs, placing a hand out. The tiniest of droplets began to form, the new mages hand shaking with their effort.

The droplets sucked together into one mass; it took no shape, it was just a simple spherical conjuring.

The water mass then danced around the new mages fingers, just before snapping back into nothing. Student cusses, their new trick cut short by the effort.

The other hums, “Well, you tried. I’ll bring some treats as a reward next time.”

I wonder what Theveus and Cara think." Cresence says to her pet off on the floor, a napping spideer.

MC Item description (the exact description that will be used for the MC item if this MArt is accepted):

A thick tome comprised of bound parchment and dark stained leather. Its edges wrought in gold, and covers shut closed by two buckles. Imprinted into the front of the thick leather hide is the silhouette of the accursed Spideer standing upon its eight hooved legs. A crimson ribbon is left between the pages of parchment, being a wide piece of fabric with small pieces of embroidery upon it.

The pages of this book bear detailed images of animals and creatures that are naturally found around the world, all mundane and commonly found; some more fearsome than others. The ink that these creatures are drawn from is a deep shade of coppery maroon, nearly brown.

And bound between the leather straps that too bind the cover, a black quill-pen is laid to rest. Its nib is sharp and pointed, yet with no apparent ink.

    Effect(s) of the Artifact:

    Non-Combative Summoning

The act of Summoning, when summoning a creature with no intent for combat is 4 emotes in total.
[Withdraw Book/Open > Flip to page, cut hand/let blood drip, place hand against page > Red mist forms on the ground > Creature of choice appears in place of red mist.]

Noncombative Summoning takes 2 genus from the user. Creatures can only be summoned within 8 Blocks of the Grimoire holder, and are under direct control of the holder. With Blood Magic rituals, there is always a chance the ritual fails. The rolls detailing such failures are below.

    Spoiler

1-5: Failure, and genus is depleted.

6-20: Success, and genus is depleted.

Other Blood Mages have the ability to aid in this, simply by placing their hand on the Grimoire. Add 1 for each blood mage tiers 2 and 3, add 2 for each blood mage tiers 4 and 5. Tier 1 Blood Mages cannot help. A max of 3 other Blood Mages can aid in Summoning.

Noncombative Summons are treated more akin to pets, created with entertainment or companionship in mind. These creatures can be given express free-will, yet can never cause harm.

    Combative Summoning

The act of Summoning, when summoning a creature with the intent of combat is 5 emotes in total.

[Withdraw Book/Open > Flip to page, cut hand > Place hand against page > Red mist forms from tome, clouding on ground where creature will spawn > Creature of choice appears in place of red mist.]

Combative Summoning takes 3 genus from the user. Creatures can only be summoned within 8 Blocks of the Grimoire holder, and are under the direct control of the holder. With Blood Magic rituals, there is always a chance the ritual fails. The rolls detailing such failures are below.

Unlike other magics, Summoned creatures will not disappear or return anywhere after their use. A wolf summoned is now a wolf in the world. Combative creatures cannot be tamed after combat by any means. After combat, a creature cannot reengage in combat while being controlled by the Caster. Should it be for the sake of a player event in which the creature attacks on its own volition and free-will, the Caster will be the one responsible to emote the creature accordingly.

    Red Lines of the Artifact:

    Noncombative Summoning

    • Noncombative Summoning can only spawn mundane creatures.
    • Noncombative Summoning can only summon creatures Wolf-Size or smaller.
    • A Noncombative creature can only be summoned once every 24-hours.
      • Should the casting fail the first time, it can be attempted until it succeeds.

    Combative Summoning

    • Combative Summoning can only spawn mundane creatures that can engage in combat (Bears, wolves, panthers, etc.)
    • Combative Summoning can only summon creatures Bear-Size or smaller.
    • A Combative creature can only be summoned once every 24-hours.
      • Should the casting fail the first time, it can be attempted until it succeeds.

    General Redlines

    • Anyone other than a Blood Mage would be unable to tell how this works.
      • With that, they would still be able to tell based on what is inside that it is an item related to Blood Magic.
    • Poisonous/Venomous creatures lose these properties.
    • The Caster cannot see what the summoned creature sees. Information cannot be transferred between the two.
    • Summoned creatures do not have Genus.
    • Mechanical rules of the game or the server should not be broken with the Summoning of creatures.
      • That is to say, a creature for example cannot flip a switch to bring the gates of a city up.

Explanation of the effect(s) (i.e. how it does what it does - slight bending of magic lore is allowed):

The Tome de Sang et d’Invocation is for all intents and purposes a portable, lite version of the Blood Magic ritual, Hail. Rather than a circle being laid out onto the ground, each page has an individual circle for each creature. The runes of each circle apply to each creature specifically (i.e. flesh, mortality, air, life for a hawk to be summoned). This takes genus as any other Blood Magic ritual would, taking 2-3 genus from the one who uses it.

When a creature is summoned, it acts similarly based upon the mechanics of Terrestrial Conjuration. The creature is controlled by the Caster with the usage of the rune of binding, where the Caster can let creatures free from the rune at any given time, yet cannot apply it to one thereafter.

Created via the Blood Magic ritual, Invent, composed of a circle inscribed with the runes of dark, flesh, mortality, power, binding and life.
