If the Invent Ritual is not being used for the creation of this (as it is not even mentioned on the application), this MArt will be unable to enter reviewing queue until the creation roleplay has been done and presented.

@Songwitch Hi! Yes, it is Invent, since that is how Blood Magic MArt's work. The Invent lore states the following.
-This ritual requires a MArt to be posted and approved prior to attempting and requires an ST to be performed to play the creature(s) involved.

  2. Name of the Artifact:

    Tome de Sang et d’Invocation

Is this a combat related Artifact? If marked as “no”, it will not be usable in combat situations:

MC Item description (the exact description that will be used for the MC item if this MArt is accepted):

A thick tome comprised of bound parchment and dark stained leather. Its edges wrought in gold, and covers shut closed by two buckles. Imprinted into the front of the thick leather hide is the silhouette of the accursed Spideer standing upon its eight hooved legs. A crimson ribbon is left between the pages of parchment, being a wide piece of fabric with small pieces of embroidery upon it.

The pages of this book bear detailed images of animals and creatures that are naturally found around the world, ranging from commonly found and mundane animals, to rarer, but still natural creatures that most would pray to never see with their own two eyes on. The ink that these creatures are drawn from is a deep shade of maroon, nearly brown.

And bound between the leather straps that too bind the cover, a black quill-pen is laid to rest. Its nib is sharp and pointed, yet with no apparent ink.

    Effect(s) of the Artifact:

    Mundane Summoning
The act of Summoning, when summoning a mundane creature is 4 emotes in total. [Withdraw Book/Open > Flip to page, cut hand/let blood drip, place hand against page > Red mist forms on the ground > Creature of choice appears in place of red mist.] Mundane Summoning takes 2 genus from the user. Creatures can only be summoned within 8 Blocks of the Grimoire holder, and are not under the direct control of the holder. With Blood Magic rituals, there is always a chance the ritual fails. The rolls detailing such failures are below.

    Spoiler

1-3: Failure, and genus is depleted.

4-20: Success, and genus is depleted.

Other Blood Mages have the ability to aid in this, simply by placing their hand on the Grimoire. Add 1 for each blood mage tiers 2 and 3, add 2 for each blood mage tiers 4 and 5. Tier 1 Blood Mages cannot help. A max of 3 other Blood Mages can aid in Summoning.

Unlike other magics, Summoned creatures will not disappear or return anywhere after their use. A wolf summoned is now a wolf in the world, and may be tamed, or set loose into the wild like any other animal.

    Non-mundane Summoning
Summoning a non-mundane creature requires 6 emotes total. Withdraw Book/Open > Flip to page, cut hand/let blood drip, place hand against page > Red mist forms on the ground > Slowly, creature begins forming within mist > Creature continues forming > Red mist dissipates, leaving behind creature.] Non-mundane Summoning takes 3 genus from the user. Creatures can only be summoned within 8 Blocks of the Grimoire holder, and are not under the direct control of the holder. The rolls detailing such failures are below.

1-5: Failure, and genus is depleted.

6-20: Success, and genus is depleted.

Unlike other magics, Summoned creatures will not disappear or return anywhere after their use. If a Crackadonk were summoned, it may need to be dealt with in the present or in a future event. Tampering with abnormal, unfamiliar creatures requires consequence.

    Red Lines of the Artifact:

    - Mundane Summoning can only spawn mundane creatures (Deer, Birds, Wolves, Bears, etc.), as well as ‘pet’ creatures (Karin, Duffle, Spideer Minimus, etc.)

    - Non-mundane Summoning can only spawn player-event creatures (Crackadonks, Crowdrakes, etc.)

    - Non-mundane creatures must be within general player/character knowledge.

    - ST can grant permission to summon ST creatures within their own events. ST creatures must be emoted by the ST themselves rather than the player.

    - Within combat, only 1 creature may be summoned at a time.

    - Due to the knowledge of Blood Magic, i.e. Genus, Runes, only a Blood Mage would understand how to use the item.

Explanation of the effect(s) (i.e. how it does what it does - slight bending of magic lore is allowed):

The Tome de Sang et d’Invocation is for all intents and purposes a portable, lite version of the Blood Magic ritual, Hail. Rather than a circle being lain out onto the ground, each page has an individual circle for each creature. The runes of each circle apply to each creature specifically (i.e. flesh, mortality, air, life for a hawk to be summoned). This takes genus as any other Blood Magic ritual would, taking 2-3 genus from the one who uses it.

When a creature is summoned, it acts similarly based upon the mechanics of Conjuration. The creatures though are not inherently controlled, with more freedom and less direct obedience to their summoner. Rather than controlled by another, they only have the vague idea of who is ‘friend’ and who is ‘foe’ when in combat situations.

Created via the Blood Magic ritual, Invent, comprised of a circle inscribed with the runes of Dark, Flesh, Mortality, Power, Binding and Life.

Do you understand that there is a three-month cooldown between posting MArts per-player, and that cooldown begins upon acceptance? (Denial does not trigger a cooldown period.)

Two odd little things are often seen; masked twins who often stand side-by-side. One loud and bright, the other quiet and dark. Each with a delicate mask presented as their visage, ceramic horns crowning their heads. The twins of clay, Book-Seeker and Scroll-Hoarder. When seen they wander, they step in sync. One's words are often continued by the other, a sentence never fully complete save for one hushing the other. They speak to others at will, seeking conversations and those who may be referred to as ‘friends’ in some form.

Upon their travels, friend and foe are met. Some who further their causes, others who attempt sabotage- at least, in the eyes of the two.

The twins stumble upon a camper; Northern woodland, with flakes of snow falling from the sky, and the crunch of ice beneath their feet. A man is who they find, an average enough man who appears malnourished and gaunt. Pallid and frail, even with a fire crackling through the air. Upon his camp were extra pairs of clothes, shoes of varying kinds and sizes, and an apparent lack of food.

Smiling, waving, the man greets. A tired gaze, his eyes reddened. The two ask for knowledge of books and scrolls, swiftly declined. Rather than leave, they sit. One is incessant with their words, one question repeated minute after minute. And the hungry man lashes out, curses spewing from a carnivorous maw. Elongated canines were noticed by the two. The one tenses, the other not. From the latter, a small dagger is drawn.

The man stood, shouting, yelling, the eldest attempting to calm. Hushes to the other, apologizes spilling out. He reaches out, and the younger retaliates. A jab at the gut– not enough to kill, but enough to elevate his rage. The man moves a hand, and a horn of the younger one cracks. The older snatches away the knife, and finishes what the younger had started. Crimson stains the colorless ground, the thing of a man cursing and writhing.

One grabs the hand of the other. The twins flee.

“Was that the darkspawn? The Vampyres Father warned?” The Hoarder asks,

“Yes. It is. I hope they are proud.” Hisses the Seeker.

  6. Pauline-Matilda took in a breath, eyes glazing over whilst cast upon the letter she'd received. Not the first time she had read the words penned to her, rather words she continued to mull over with time. She'd grown to become a woman of few words, focused rather on her actions. With the parchment in one hand, an index finger of the other tapped the pommel of a sword that rest at her hip.

"Perhaps it is time I finally return to my kin."
