Xillaris

Onvoth was born to two loving parents within The Onyx Sanctum, and he was their only child. His father and mother, named Cilas and Anryth, inspired most of his interests whilst growing up. His father taught him to fight, mainly mid-close range tactics, while his mother was a passionate reader and writer. Though Onvoth enjoyed fighting very much, he soon discovered that he had the same passion for writing and reading that his mother had, usually for things in the horror genre, and decided to follow in her footsteps. As a child he mostly kept to himself, usually by choice after trying and failing to connect with the other elven children due to his inability to pick up on social cues. He did make a few friends, a boy named Arntris and a girl named Lysithia, both of which contributed highly to his writing by helping him think of scary new monsters to write about. He didn't hang out with them as often as he thought he should, but he became very close to them nonetheless, and they in turn understood his social limits and boundaries as they all grew older. Though he did quite enjoy his time alone, as it allowed him to read and write as often as he pleased, he began to feel lonely even while with his family and two close friends, as he just lacked the energy to keep up with them. By age 15 he became very devoted to Laura the Moon Mother, and he prayed to her often, as well as his ancestors, and his loneliness faded bit by bit. Finally when he reached age 18, he grew tired of the Sanctum and longed to see the arts and culture of other realms, said goodbye to his parents and friends, and left home to become a wandering author. Up to his current age of 23, he continues to wander, writing chapter after chapter in his growing collection of short horror stories. Some are about monsters that stalk the caves of the world, looking for lost miners or adventurers to claim as their dinner, and others are about sly murderers that disguise themselves as normal every day citizens, until they spot someone to make their next victim... In recent years since he left home, he has become more and more disinterested in making friends, seeing as he is never in the same place for very long and his conversations usually didn't go anywhere that interested him. Onvoth makes money by being a wandering sellsword for anyone with money to spare while trying to get his writing career in order. He always makes time to pray to Laura and his own ancestors, no matter where he ends up in the night. Perhaps one day he will find a reason to stop wandering...
