Rowanna McGregor is a 19 year old Highlander woman who recently migrated to the Kingdom of Oren from her home in Norland.
She's the orphaned daughter of the young Highlander couple Merrie and Filmore McGregor (they don't exist in-game I hope that's okay!) They died six months prior to now, so Rowanna has hardened from the experience, but she feels the harsh, work-oriented life in Norland doesn't suit her and would rather pursuit her goal of becoming a historian. She would like to study religious history of the Church of the Canon. She grew up with influences in the Red Faith, but has recently been questioning her pious upbringing and wants to explore other ideas.
Rowanna is lucky to have grown up with a grandfather interested in linguistics and history, so she had access to texts that most of her neighbors did not. She speaks both English and French, and is trying to learn the common Dwarven dialect for her trading endeavors.
She has a fascination for ancient and modern histories and wishes to learn more about the development of the Descendants, and their various losses and victories both internally and united against common enemies. She's also deeply interested in writing, and writes academic writings, fictional stories, and poetry in her spare time.
Rowanna's dream of becoming a historian is a distant one, though, and she's never really had to provide for herself before in Norland, much less in Oren. She plans on using her knowledge in Dwarven language to trade with them for certain trinkets from their mining, which she could craft into jewelry and other artisan goods to make a living. Her current goal is to be taken seriously in the more fast-paced environment of academia, and hopes that those of refined upbringings will take her seriously despite her rough, rural upbringing in the mountains.
