  1. As a young elf sat in the patches of daylight that fade in the night of his hair, the sun bunny hopped out of the shadows and sought a new hill in the leaves of a wrath. His pale hands intertwined with the leaves as he weaved daffodils and daisies together, the nature embracing and being embraced. And as a petal fell, his gaze traced its graceful descent before it stopped at the parchment at the foot of his bed. Lost in thought he had forgotten it was even there, but as the petal brushes an illuminated letter, he reads about the bright future of his beloved home, the House of Adilers - the Duchy of Maerh’nor, and the thought makes his heart warm.

  2. In the heart's journey, a star-gazing wanderer disturbs the river's gentle flow, bringing his ceaseless travels to a sudden standstill. With a rustle he retrieves a stack of latest histories, and reading by the moonlight, he feels one of the texts ignite with sunshine warmth. Upon the sparkled contemplation, he receives a sense of longing, when his wrinkly finger traces the parchment. The tales of nomads and their stories, family and nature all resonate with memories that have been left to dry like old paint. That very night, he takes up his brush once more, dipping it into the crimson hue from the day's hunt. With purposeful strokes, he inscribes a vine encircling his weathered arm, each leaf a fervent wish for the distant tribe's enduring fortune and flourishing, akin to the vitality of spring in their ancestral stride.

  3. The foreigner-looking elf stood amongst the group, his stone-cold figure dulling the glow of gemstone sand. While staring at the oasis, safe heaven among the death-retching dunes he prayed: "Praised be the sun-adorned leader and his flock that shall gift tranquility and purity to all that breathes life. My lies in Ka'tau law, to bring more peace than war."

The sound of waves gently cascaded into the traveler's ear, a soft yet persistent melody of nature, awakening an innate desire for adventure and discovery.

As they walked along the shoreline, a cold stream's path converged with the coast, carrying with it an item of a tragic past – a battered journal. The traveller, intrigued, picked it up, marvelling at its age-worn cover.

Softly, the journal urged itself open, as if beckoning an alien eye to peer into the heart of its tale. It revealed more than words and scribbles; it revealed a story, a feeling, and most importantly, a fate.

Steeped in the cold, unforgiving embrace of saltwater, the journal – much like its owner – found refuge in the waves.

Exhausted, and defeated, both were swept into the sea's serenade, submitting the story to the pull of the tide.

Soon, a kind soul found the book and sheltered it, then shared its tale with all those whose names were present.

    The notes awaited.

    @Periphonics

    Spoiler

A letter would reach Fal'leon only by the brink of dawn, a folded parchment consisting of a few entries, telling of three different individuals, marking out their names and alliances for the seed trial, however the last entry was left unfinished and smelt strongly of salt water: “Esty Pashal”.

     @AmericanSniper52

    Spoiler

The arrived paper would bear no significance at first sight, rather the opposite, having scribbles and drawings made before those were frantically scratched out. Amongst all, a single phrase repeated the most and underlined at the end:

    "Mal'onn, I couldn't understand.

    I'm sorry

     @Pixicat

    Spoiler

Floria would receive an anonymous letter, with nothing but a drawing of an eclipse made where a stamp would be. After unravelling it the following poem would be etched in paper, simply titled

    Ito Haelun:

    “Back then, you embraced me.

Oh, how it all changed when you cut your hand on a thorn.

    You had sown a failure.

And now backing away, throwing out all the sprouts of your work.

Oh, dear, I don't blame you, just wish that you never knew me at all.

I'm a monster. No need denying it, I'm at fault.

Strangely, I cannot change it, to bend my own image to those who love lies.

A wrath soon awakens as I put on disguise.

Pick someone else to mould from the gault.

Oh, the path I've woven, a twisted tale of distraught,

In the darkness of deception, entangled, I was caught.

This time, it's my turn to banish corrupt”.

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

A Phantom, commonly referred to as a ghost, is a restless soul brought to life by their remarkable willpower. Many attributes constituting their new fate will determine their appearance and abilities. Depending on how the deceased relates to their death, the following forms can be taken: Revenants, Poltergeists & Spectres.

Revenants are Phantoms that only recently had woken up from their demise and are unaccustomed to their incorporeal state. They resemble a grayscale version of their prior self with only a slight indication of the cause of their death, noticeable yet not explicit enough to force distraught. They have a lingering aura of gloom and cold around them. They hold no memory of their death and thus believe themselves to be alive. If they learn to accept their fate and embrace the new image, they will become a Specter, on the other hand, if the realisation would spark dangerous spite and resentfulness the Poltergeist would be their entity.

Specters are vessels of peace in a spiritual form. They represent descendants who in their death have reached inner peace but retained a weighting sorrow about their passing. Such spirits reflect their past living form the best, bearing no mark to denote their cause of death, coloured in shades of white, blue or yellow. Acceptance of death has granted them remarkable powers and manipulation of ectoplasm is no longer a tedious task but is never used for a malicious cause.

Poltergeists are vicious spirits who have come to deny and reject the nature of their demise and become absorbed by the trauma of it, painting them shades of red and black. Though not necessarily evil, Poltergeists are a dangerous and violent variety of Phantom, as their presence alone causes an aura of anxiety and unease. In many cases these spirits have become so feral that they take on almost animalistic traits; claw-like fingers, sharpened teeth, predatory eyes, etc. Unlike the Phantom and Specter counterparts who speak with soothing echoes, their voices tend to be characterized by grating hisses, growls, wails, rasps and any other manner of broadly unpleasant or unsettling tone.

If this construct or creature has some form of aesthetic choice, can you describe how they look?

Revenants possess nothing but a grey-to-white hue and a tasteful reminder of their case of death.

Specters bear the faint shades of blue and yellow, but moreover, stay true to their prior living selves with no death marks present.

Poltergeists are the most varied bunch, offering a list of disturbing features to choose from, which explicitly portray their gruesome death with the help of an ectoplasmic effigy of blood, or in another case, adopt a feral sight, with sharpened teeth, elongated claws and so on.

Extra possibilities are to be explored with Specter's and Poltergeist's ability to shift form. For instance, Specter could transform into a gentle herbivore or other docile creature, perhaps even a majestic stag. Meanwhile, Poltergeist could take on the form of a ferocious predator or a cunning scavenger.

  8. An old man feels so engulfed in the ethereal world of a vibrant and dreamy magazine that he's inspired to take the quiz himself: "Eunica, huh? Thought so, I love flower crowns as well", he mused while nestled next to his daughter's parrots, "I wonder what Ether would say if I brought 'er one of the dolls"

  9. The culprit of the events himself would find solace on the cushion of an empty library; his eyes drank the ink until the pool run dry.
He read the final line and couldn't hold his thought, and thus the rhyme was born in frantic dance of word:

In search of a mellow gleam I strived,
But stage lights blindsided, left me deprived.
Their brilliance, so dazzling, obscured my sight,
Unable to showcase my envisioned light.

I yearned to shine with a gentle hue,
Yet blinded by the stage, my dreams askew.
The mellow gleam I sought, hidden from view,
Lost in the glare, my vision withdrew.

Oh, stage lights, you stole my intended glow,
Concealed the brilliance I wanted to show.
Though blinded, I'll find a way to ignite,
And share my mellow gleam with all in sight.

  10. The First Kayak Race

[!] The missive is modestly hanging on the event board

    image.png.934ab86e686302f4eb22a7f8be49ef13.png

Seeing how a seaman craft has been introduced to Reinmaren folk, an event to embrace this spirit and spark joy with this light-hearted activity is being held by a Huntsmaster near the fort of Riverock.

    RACE

Contestants will have to divide into groups of two-three people each having their own boat which they’d have to take control of to drive through the designated territory avoiding obstacles and the opponent’s trickery, meanwhile collecting shiny trinkets which are placed on the special spots.

    TEAMS

A team will be consistent of players partaking in their thriving roles, those being:

Navigator: takes the main responsibility for the ship’s movement, guiding fellow crewmates to avoid obstacles and choose paths to cross.

Midshipman: a member whose task is to help resist the troubles brought by outer forces, be it other contestants or nature’s malice, they should always stay alert and be creative in dealing with troubles.

Either of the team members is allowed to collect the trinket, but it’s advised to not leave a boat without a driver, just in case.

    OOC rules explaining the mechanics:

(this will be repeated during the event)

A timer for five minutes will be set by an event holder, during it contestants are led to engage in a race for collecting trinkets placed on wooden platforms on the water. Whichever team brings the most until the end of the timer is nominated a winner. Notably, a ship has two ‘durability points’ and if wasted a ship will drown and its crew will be no longer capable of collecting trinkets, but their previous findings will be scored.

There are two threats to losing those points:

     1. Signs will be planted in spots across the map and in case of collision, the team’s Midshipman will have to decide to either spend time to fix the occurrence (emote handling the problem) or waste a durability point and keep going.

     2. If a boat is successfully sabotaged by enemy players (which requires an emote and a d100 roll > 40 from an opponent's  Midshipman) the affected team loses a durability point.

     Redlines:

    Spoiler

     - A team that brings the most trinkets the fastest wins.

     - Each team is limited to having no more than 5 collectables, just 1 from each platform to ensure equality amongst players.

     - The group of players is divided into teams of two where one (Navigator) is responsible for maneuvering the ship and the other (Midshipman) for emotes regarding encounters with enemies or obstacles. Meaning the first on the boat is a Navigator and the second is a Midshipman.

     - There are 2 durability points for each boat and if its number reaches 0 the kayak collapses forcing its members to swim to the shore.

     - Midshipman can emote sabotaging an enemy's boat which is within #q distance (8 block radius) then roll a 40 check on d100. If successful, an affected team loses a durability point.

     - Please report each sabotage to the event holder.

     - A boat can’t be sabotaged by the same team twice.

     - If Navigator collides with a sign [!] on the water, their Midshipman must decide to either lose a durability point or emote handling the problem to restore it.

     - When the timer stops, all players must start returning to the shore to submit their findings.

    REWARDS

Huntsmaster has prepared the following prizes for the first, second, and third-place victors:

FIRST: 200 MINA, two bottles of Reinmaren Rotgut

SECOND: 100 MINA, eight rabbit hide pelts for the team

THIRD: tea for the whole crew

    OOC TIME

    ====================

    MONDAY 6 PM EST

  11. "Oh! Another vote, hope a new mayor will 'ave a better understanding of this.." Markward Orino chuckled lightly, submitting his vote,
"One could cover an entire wall this 'tis amount of paper" - the man continued his tradition of wondering things, while at the back of his mind wishing luck to the contestants.

  12. yes, give us that sweet-sweet cultist inspo!

in all seriousness I think this lore piece would provide us, lore dwellers who are too lazy to write MAs new features to add to our roleplay!

Also, Idols would be great for desperate self-roleplayers (says as if he isn't one)
