  1. In the Norlandic Keep, Liam sits, lost in thought as the fire warms the room. He is a very Hefty man, hands rough from years of work and battle. Around him, citizens hold each other close trying their best to keep warm. He is suddenly jerked back to reality as he hears a familiar voice call out “You ok bud?” He looks down at the octopus plush in his arms, almost chuckling at the thought of someone who has no problem with beheading a man for shoving him, delicately holding a soft child’s toy. He quietly mumbles “I'm alright. Just thinking…” The voice pauses for a moment before continuing “Well y’know we have stuff to do. Usually, you’re all over it… is this about the ice kiss?” Liam suddenly yells “NO!”. The crowd quickly turns to the sudden outburst. He exchanges glances with them before excusing himself heading underground to what appears to be a storage room. He went to sit on one of the medical beds preemptively set out for the expected injuries. The medics had largely underestimated Norland’s ability to suck it up, so rows of beds lay unused waiting for any impending battle to provide use.

He sets his plush on a bed opposite of him looking around for anyone who may be listening before continuing “It’s not about any drugs. Not whiskey or… or whatever else you may think.” He takes a breath once again glancing around the room for any others “I am a danger to Grimm. I know it sounds stupid, but-” The sounds of someone heading down the steps echo down the hall. He looks over to see a small child standing beneath the doorway waving. In exchange, Liam motioned for her to leave, but she stood there still. “Go on. What do you need?” he impatiently asked before she smiled and ran off leaving him sitting. “Now what’d you do that for?” the voice asks. “That’s what I mean… I-I don’t know. I don't know what I'm doing or why I do things. Ever since I came into this worthless place, I’ve just been… existing. Days blend and then I discover drugs.” He chuckles for a moment “Eternal leaf, box of crayons, cactus green, you name it, I sold it. Then…” His expression changes becoming more serious “I found ice kiss, and damn… that was a drug if there was one. Smoked it up so much some elven dude seasoned enough to make the ocean jealous… then Grimm saw what was happening and I made a promise… one which I broke 14– well, now 15 times.”

Liam stands up grabbing the plush “And now, he’s finally given up…” a lone tear treads down Liam’s emotionless face, dripping onto the floor. He quietly rushed past the people in the palace and opened the door to leave. Struggling against the cold winds, he made it to the library where he grabbed a couple books from the children's section before grabbing a note, pen, and lantern, both for light and warmth. He sat for hours looking through “Norlandic ABCs” trying to make sure each letter was written to near perfection. Consulting several more books, mostly searching for words and their meaning, he gave out a breathy sigh. Standing up, he looked over the note and left it to dry as he grabbed a couple blankets and crawled into a small corner to sleep. Waking up, he quickly grabbed the note and headed for the aviary. Sending his message to Grimm, and shedding his ashguard clothes, he quickly felt the sting of the storm. He grimaced through it as he grabbed his cloak, and went for his horse. He checked that the coast was clear before quickly riding off, careful to avoid any Mori that would stand in his way, once again, heading far away from home.

  3. Please tell me this is a joke... This completely decimates much lore, and would only make sense if there were constant racial conflicts that lead to the uniting of all same-race nations. This would also discourage new players who have a friend, let's say in Norland, to play an elf or orc leaving them virtually no choice in the matter.

  4. Percentage based activity checks is an amazing addition to the server... until you get 2 or 3 Nations that are passively able to get several orders of magnitude greater activity and they start sucking in players. Activity checks were originally made to keep dozens of abandoned nations from forming and consolidate roleplay in a few generalized nations. Through the consolidations and exceptional leadership, Hanse and Celinore have become Nation Superpowers. There is nothing wrong with that, but when this means places like Bywater, which is a known racial hub, has to worry about being evicted or join another nation as a vassal, there is a major issue. Not only would you removing another unique area (RIP Yong Ping), but actively forcing them to disband or throw a major portion of their lore out the window and join "Bigg'uns".

Activity checks should only be glanced at after a Nation noticeably has issues and should be a "final countdown" when all other options have been exhausted.

  5. *Some of these events happened on the server, so be sure to NOT metagame*

As Liam saw the light of the capital, he felt almost numb. After the events prior, his cat's death, 2 months in prison before escaping the hangman's noose, and the constant reminders of his past, he wanted to take a bit of time to try to relax and figure out what to do. As he went to his hookah stand beside the bar, he reached for his ice-kiss supply. He then went back to his house and planned on smoking only one or two bowls, but that turned into 5 and 10 and eventually, he broke his hookah after trying to stand too quickly and stumbling as he fell, he grabbed the glass and broke it. In his intoxicated state, he went back to the tavern to borrow the public hookah. on his way, he grabbed the rest of his ice kiss. When he arrived home, he got through half of his supply before deciding to lay on the ground. In his drug binge, he remembered a bottle of Ashwood that had been taken from him at the bar when he first arrived. He decided it was time to drink it and now was the only time he wanted to, so he grabbed a chisel he used for digging out ingredients for certain drugs and went to the tavern. There were 2 heavy doors that blocked his path, but after forcing them both open, he found that he couldn't get into any of the chests to claim his prize. He left in anger and as he slowly stumbled to his house, as he got inside he crawled onto his bed and eventually, he drifted off to sleep...

  6. Liam eventually came to a small town. As he rode through, people seemed to almost recognize him. Some just looked, most shook their head in annoyance, but a few looked with... sadness. Liam eventually got off his horse and was bet by a group of 3 people. He didn't recognize them but they seemed to know who he was. A girl approached him timidly "Are you Liam? Son of Kaleb and Ash?". Liam looked at the girl "No", he lied, "I am.. uhh.. Boots!" Liam lied. Though he thinks otherwise, Liam is not a good liar, and this case is no exception. He spoke like he was a man named Boots, the Norland Capital's tavern bartender. He told them he was there looking to see if anyone sold good booze, but before he could finish, he felt someone behind him. Liam quickly drew his blade and turned to see a Man with leathery skin and callouses on every part of his fingers. He immediately sheathed his sword went for a hug. In the middle of the street, him and the man hugged before he whispered to Liam "You need to leave. The bandi-" His voice was cut off as an arrow zipped by them.  Just as Liam was about to draw his blade, several armed men forced him to the ground. A man is a beautifully decorated armor set stood over him. "Liam, Son of Kaleb and Ash, you are charged with armed theft, burglary, attempted assassination, and the murder of Jack Stone.". A crowd gathered as an armored carriage pulled beside the two and loaded Liam inside. 2 months later, Liam is lead to the Gallows where his neck would pay for his crimes. As he walked up the stairs, his charges were read outloud. "Liam, you are charged with 4 counts of armed robbery," He started to panic as he realized it was time. He was really going to die. "6 counts of petty theft, 2 counts arson," He was lead to the trapdoor and the executioner carefully placed the noose was put around his neck and tightened it.  "And the murder of Jack Stone. For your crimes against the people, on this day, you will be hung by the neck until dead." The executioner pulled the lever to drop Liam to his death, but when Liam dropped, the rope let out a loud pop as it broke in two and liam was set free. He wasted no time and immediately started running. In the confusion, he managed to escape the crowd. He ran to a horse and untied the reins. As he sped off, he heard the sounds of people yelling and panicking as what sounded like cannons were lit off. Liam kept riding well into the night, and ended up back at the capital of Norland once again.

  7. Liam rides into Norland and dismounts his horse. He puts the drugs and herbs he was hoping to sell in Hanse back in his stand within the bar before walking to his house. Once inside, he looked around for his cat, Wheat. He had gotten him a few years ago from an abandoned city and taken care of him. He couldn't find him before noticing his bedroom door was open. Liam walks inside and sees Wheat on his bed asleep. He walks quietly over to him and gives him some pets when he realizes Wheat is not moving. Liam looks at the cat to notice it lays dead in his bed. He stares in disbelief as he takes it in. That cat had been his first friend since being shunned out by his parents. He had been there as Liam struggled to to learn to read and write, as his parents never cared to. Endless nights of company and joy suddenly didn't seem so everlasting. Liam looked at the cat once more before feeling the tears force their way out. Liam put his head to his pillow and started screaming. As tears flooded out, he cried. He cried for his now dead cat, who he loved more than anything. He screamed of the favoritism of his father and neglect from his mother. He bawled at the of the death of his friend, Jack. Visions of him bleeding out on the floor begging for help filled Liam's mind. He cried for what seemed like hours before he got himself together. He sat up and looked at his cat before solemnly gathering some cloth and wrapping the corpse. Fighting back tears, he left for the hills of Norland where he dug a small crevice in the and set the bundle alight. He stayed by the fire long after it was out, staring silently into the horizon. He then unsheathes his sword stared at it. As it shined, he ran his fingers carefully along the edge. "Sharp..." He said to himself before putting the sword to his chest as if about to stab himself. He stated like this for several long minutes before dropping the sword. He then screamed of his hate of this land before quietly sheathing the blade and mounting his horse. he then rode off with no plans for what next...
