Hey #LOTC, Time for a huge patch, we have new skills, new mechanics, new treasure, new recipes, new everything! This changelog is over 8k characters long, but I highly recommend you read it as it's more of a tl;dr version! [NEW] Updated to Minecraft patch 1.3.1. [NEW] Herbalism skill (first aid / alchemy). [NEW] Stealth skill (sneak / assassination). [NEW] Buddy system now requires the person you add to /baccept or /bdecline your buddy request. [NEW] Created an advanced combat formula to ensure that the 'Entity Damage' event is not called more often than once per 20 ticks (1 second). This means spam clicking / click botting will no longer have a better chance at getting skill combat bonuses. This will also require some rebalancing of skill proc chances, as it is now properly synced with the red damage animation. This will slow combat down a nice bit for an RP server.= [NEW] /disablexp <stat>, disables EXP gain for a specific stat, the stat will appear red in /stats. [NEW] /enablexp <stat> re-enables EXP for a xp-disabled stat. [NEW] Created an advanced combat formula to ensure that the 'Entity Damage' event is not called more often than once per 20 ticks (1 second). [NEW] Modified mob spawning core code, aggressive mobs will now rarely spawn in daylight, and at night only spawn within a 128x32x128 radius of players with a max of 20 mobs per chunk. Coupling this with the new targetting and movement buffs for mobs, night time is no longer a joke on LOTC, it's gone from The Walking Dead to 28 Weeks Later. [NEW] Custom Bandage / Medical mechanics to replace regeneration from full food. Bandages can be used on yourself and others and act as an out-of-combat HoT. Herbalists will be more efficient and can use higher tier bandages though. [NEW] Custom herb gathering and cleaning mechanics, utilizing many unused items as herbs for recipes to create potions. [NEW] Health Potions are now craftable by level 45+ herbalists, they heal 3 hearts instantly. [NEW] Regeneration Potions are now craftable by level 85+ herbalists, they heal 1/2 hearts per 2 seconds over 45 seconds. However, any combat will remove the effect. [NEW] Speed Potions are now craftable by herbalists, they buff your speed but disable sprinting while the effect is active. Combat will remove the effect. [NEW] Posion Potions are now craftable by herbalists. Beware of this new assasination tool.** [NEW] Unique 'sneak' mechanic for stealth skill, loose mobs, vanish into the shadow from other players for short periods of time, come out with big sneak attacks that leave victims dizzy and confused, etc. [NEW] Higher minas rewards from mobs for high level pickpockets (stealth skill). [NEW] Beds once again heal you by sleeping in them, the plugin itself has been recoded for performance and you now only regain 1/2 heart per 15 seconds. (Full heal = 300 seconds or ~5 minutes) [NEW] Renamed shears to "Herbalism Kits"; they work much like hoes work to harvest seeds from grass, only they have a chance to harvest unidentified herbs (kind of like runescape's system), once you have a dirty herb you'll need a vial of water to clean it and reveal its true properties. [NEW] Shears are now made by the following recipe: http://minecraftrecipedesigner.com/creations/267868.png [MOD] Beds can now be used durring daytime. Had to edit a bunch of funky minecraft server code for this! [MOD] Beds no longer set your respawn location or say that they do. [MOD] Skill system total level upgraded to 300 for normal players, 315 for ender VIPs, and 325 for aether VIPs. [MOD] Recoded buddy system from the ground up. [MOD] Optimized skill system, all functionality now occurs in memory rather than in the file system. [MOD] All aggressive mobs now target from up to 64 blocks away instead of the default 16 blocks. [MOD] Buffed movement speed of all hostile mobs exluding Pig Zombies; they’ll now be able to keep up with you while walking and barely while sprinting. [MOD] Globally debuffed all mob damage to the vanilla damage in “Hard” difficulty. [MOD] You will no longer regenerate HP from having a full food level. [MOD] You can now die from hunger. [MOD] Hunger depletes 50% slower. [MOD] Blacksmithing level no longer offers a 2 DMG buff to swords, sorry! [MOD] Woodcutting level no longer offers a 2 DMG buff to axes, sorry! [MOD] Nerfed base damage of arrow by 1 heart. [MOD] Archery EXP has been increased from a 4 to 6x modifier. [MOD] Diamond swords now determine hit rate based on level + 25, so you will have a 100% hit rate at level 75. [MOD] Gold swords now determine hit rate based on level; so a level 100 will have a 100% hit rate. [MOD] Gold swords have been debuffed by two hearts, so they now have a base damage of 3 hearts, still a much better DPS than the 2 hearts of diamond. [MOD] Similar changes as above were made to axes, although slightly less acurate. Diamond axes now have a 95% hit rate at level 100, while Gold axes has a 75% hit rate. [MOD] Gold and Diamon axe damage slightly nerfed, crit chance buffed. [MOD] Wooden weapons now have a min. 25% hit rate up from 10% at level 0. [MOD] Both swords and axe mastery have recieved a 1/2 heart global debuff. [MOD] Buddylist cap is now 25 buddies, up from 20. [MOD] Blacksmiths will be happy to hear that crafting chances of diamond and gold armor have been slightly buffed, up to 20% higher success for some items. [MOD] Diamond armor durability on craft is now determined based on the % success rate of crafting converted to durability, rather than a random 10-100%. [MOD] Any armor that does not have a 100% craft chance at level 100 will now have its durability set to the % chance of crafting + a random number between the %chance of sucess and 100% durability. I.E. 83% crafting rate: 83 + random_num(1-17) = X 83 + 7 = 90% durability. [MOD] Mobs now have a chance to drop basic cloth bandages (paper). [MOD] Books no longer use paper to be made (since paper are now basic bandages) simple use reeds to directly create a book like you would to create paper. [FIX] Removed shop system. It’s buggy and exploitable. We’ll find (or code) a new one later. [FIX] Buddy system thinking you’ve already added someone when you haven’t. [FIX] Fixed animal breeding not occuring even when all checks are passed. [FIX] /stats will now show correct max total level for Nether and Aether VIP’s. [FIX] Disabled villager trading. [FIX] Disabled ender chests. (until we have a use, of course.) [FIX] Zombies will no longer have any interest in chasing mysterious men. [FIX] Nerfed Mysterious Men spawn rate, replaced them with some of their pets. [FIX] EXP orbs will not spawn from block breaking. [FIX] An incorrect formula in archer was causing it to incorrectly calculate the chance of a soul arrow. (0.##% instead of ##%) [FIX] Arrows now actually deal 2X damage rather than +2 damage when they crit. [FIX] All combat skill based EXP has recieved a HUGE buff, and should be much more reasonable leveling now. [FIX] Mobs only being processed ever 400 ticks instead of every tick. [FIX] A bunch of spelling errors in the skill plugin have been corrected (thanks, Freja!) [FIX] EXP orbs will no longer drop from block breaking / furnace smelting. (lol notch.) [FIX] Removed notch's bloatware code that sent analytics to his central hub. Noob. [FIX] Not being able to set a skill to level 100 using credits. *** [FIX] Pumpkins not being breakable. KNOWN BUGS / ISSUES: - Sometimes you need to right click twice on a bed for it to allow you to sleep at daytime. - 'Home Set' debug message when right clicking bed still appears. ** Splash potions will be added on a later update. *** All players will recieve a FREE skll reset when they log in, all of their stats will be converted into skill credits so you can rebuild your character to better fit these new changes. **** It should also be noted that we do expect to run into some unintended bugs from this patch, so please be sure to submit bug reports as you spot them using /modreq or the forums, thanks!

Forgot to mention, I coded an entire advanced bandaging system, and health potions will start dropping from mobs and being craftable by herbalists. Herbalism is gonna be a major support skill for creating health potions, buffs, etc. High level herbalist can apply bandages to others, create imbued bandages, etc. All players can create and use the default cloth bandages though. (4 heart regen over 16 seconds while out of combat and not moving.)

Hey #LOTC, I'm still out of town as I write this, but I just wanted to let everyone know what the deal is with the 1.3 minecraft update. A recommended build by bukkit was released yesterday, and many dev builds before that, but we want our update to minecraft 1.3 to be parralleled by our update to Patch 2.8 on LOTC. The patch should be finished this Saturday, which is also when I'll be back in town. Here's a preview of some of the changes you can expect: [NEW] Herbalism skill (first aid / alchemy). This change-log is not final, nor complete. More of a taste of some of the changes we're making. The most important things to take from this changelog if you don't care about the update is: The shop plugin will be removed, make sure all your valuables are locked with LWC or moved to a non-shop chest.
