I'm not so sure about taking the VIP houses along to the new land. Maybe if your VIP you get a couple of days or a week to start on the new land, before everyone else comes on? All options have pluses and minases. -

I think if we move it would be awesome with the new 1.8 terrain. Much bigger and richer then before. However, I still don't think that people should lose anything. Maybe have 20 weeks where active players can say I want to keep my stuff, to get rid of the un-active players. This would make for a better cleaner world. What ever you do, I'll stay with you all the way, as I know you'll make the right decision! Happy thinking ;) Peraldon -
Interesting ideas. Origionally, I also had 3 spells in each tier. I found it didn't work quite as well, as it overloaded the number of spells (and made it a right bugger to code ;) ). I would however like to see all the styles of magic that you did. They look cool! Also, some of your spells dont fit in Alteration.

Hi, When can I expect my test to be? I'm GMT, and on at about 3-4pm during school days, and about 10-11am during weekends. This can change quite a lot, I'd just like a general idea of when I'm going to be tested. And do I need anything for the test?

Hi, Sorry for the really long post, but magic is very important to me ;) First of all, magic should be rare. For example- Dungeons and Dragons magic is too common, where as Middle Earth magic is too rare. I think it would be better to take the in-between approach. Magic should be separated by tiers, and styles. Mana Mana is the currency of magic. All spells (apart from the racial ones) cost mana. People start of with 0/0 mana. You upgrade your mana capacity by reading special sorts of books. A book generally upgrades your mana by at most 5. You can also upgrade your mana by holding a golden hoe (with the modified recipe is in the wiki) by 10. The maximum mana you can have is 100. All tier 1 spells cost 10 mana each, tier 2 cost 25 and tier 3 cost 60. Mana regenerates at the pace of 1 per minute. Racial Magics Racial magic is the commonest sort of magic. It is so common, it is almost just a special ability. Each race has 1 racial magic spell, that you automatically start off with. All racial magics don't cost any mana. Dark Elf Descending Darkness- Can only be cast every MC day. Creates a 5x5 block of total blackness. Lasts for 1 minute. High Elf Fast Growth- Can only cast every MC day. All plants within 4 blocks grow 1 level up. Wood Elf Sure shot- Can only be cast every MC day. Next arrow that hits deals x1.2 damage. Northern Human Icy rage- Can only be cast every MC day. Next sword strike that hits deals x1.2 damage. Southern human Diplomatic reach- Can only be cast every MC day. All monsters within 5 blocks don't attack for 30 seconds. Halfling Human Growing wheat- Can only be cast every MC day. All wheat within 4 squares grow to full. Shaman Orc Fearful Aura- Can only be cast every MC day. All mobs within 4 squares don't attack anything for 30 seconds (unless attacked) Nomad Orc Heavy punch- Can only be cast every MC day. Next unarmed attack stuns (cant do anything) the target for 2 seconds. Goblin Esteemed repair- Can only be cast every MC day. Next repair the caster does repairs doubley. Mountain Dwarf Striking Axe- Can only be cast every MC day. Next axe strike against target deals x1.2 damage. Cave Dwarf Mining Sense- Can only be cast every MC day. Makes you automatically turn to the nearest vein of ore. Forest Dwarf Woodcutter of the forest- Can only be cast every MC day. The next wood block that you chop destroys all adjacent wood blocks. Undead Power of Iblees- Can only be cast every MC day. Summons 3 zombies. The Magic This is the main set of magic. They can be cast again, and again, as long as you have enough mana. Destruction Your basic deal-as-much-as-possible type of magic. Fireballs and other offensive spells make this migic very unsuttle. Tier 1 Fireball- Creates a snowball on fire (and automatically throws it). The block or entity that it lands on catches fire. Lightening- Creates a lightening strike where the caster is looking. Tier 2 Fire Scathe- All entities within 5 blocks catch fire. Boiling Thunder- Same a 'lightening', but the spell lasts 2 seconds, and at the beginning of every second there is a lightening strike. Tier 3 Meteor Shower- The sky darkens for the chunk that the caster is in, and the adjacent chunks (including diagonals). After 5 seconds 2 lava springs randomly appear in the chunks. 5 seconds after that, 2 tnt-sized explosions randomly go off. 5 seconds after that, 1% of all the blocks in the chunks turn into netherrack. 2 minutes later, the sky clears again. Lightening Death- Like 'lightening' but multi strikes that follow where the caster is looking for 7 seconds. Alteration Much more subtle then the destruction magic. This is about changing blocks. Tier 1 Small Change- Change selected wood/sapling/wool etc. to same item/block, but different type. Eg you could change normal wood into dark wood. Doorway- Instantly destroys the block caster is looking at, and the block below. They both re-appear after 30 seconds. Tier 2 Change- Change selected blocks into any other block. They revert back to normal after 1 minecraft day. Disguise- Disguise yourself as another player. Lasts 3 minutes. Tier 3 Major Change- Change selected blocks the anything else that has the same rarity or lower. It lasts for ever. Summon Tower- Creates a 2 storey, furbished tower in-front of caster. It goes away after 1 minecraft day. Nature Are you a tree hugger? Like to farm? Then this magic is for you! Tier 1 Growth- Plant caster is looking at grows to full. Vines- Target is surrounded by leaves, and walks as if going through a spider's web for 2 seconds. Tier 2 Mass Growth- All plants within 8 blocks instantly grow to full. Heal- Instantly heals target for 4 life. Tier 3 Call of the Wild- All non-passive mobs within 30 blocks of caster don't attack caster, and attack any entity that attacks caster. It lasts 5 minutes. Mass Heal- Heals all players within 5 blocks of caster to full life. Necromancy This is the Undead's magic. Normally proves fatal to any living being. Tier 1 Summon Zombie- Summons a Zombie where the caster is looking Necrotic- Deals 1.5 damage to target and gives you 1.5 life. Tier 2 Undead Healing- All Undead mobs within 15 blocks heal to full life. Larger Summon- Summons 5 zombies where the caster is looking. Tier 3 Major Necrotic- Deals 9 damage to target, and heals 9 life. Summon Army- Summons 10 zombies, 5 skeletons and 2 zombie-pig-men where the castor is looking. Enchanting Want to make your armour and weapons stronger? Look no further. Tier 1 Strong Weapon- Enchanted sword/axe/bow deals 0.5 extra damage. Strong Armour- Enchanted armour negates extra 0.5 damage. Tier 2 Magic Weapon- Enchanted sword/axe/bow deals 1 extra damage and has double the durability. Magic Armour- Enchanted armour negates extra 1 damage. Tier 3 Legendary Weapon- Enchanted sword/axe/bow deals 2 extra damage and has double the durability. Legendary Armour- Enchanted armour negates extra 2 damage. Learning the Magic You don't start off knowing all the spells, as that would be boring! The only way to learn then is to read a special type of book. For tier 1, there are 7 books per spell, for tier 2 there are 3 and for tier 3 there is 1. Before you can learn tier 2 and 3, you need to know at least 1 spell in tier 1 of that type. And to learn tier 3, you need to know some tier 2. Magic is very hard to create well. You want it rare, but not to rare that no-one has it. You don't want it overpowered, otherwise everyone will stop what they are doing and hunt for the magic books, but you don't want it underpowered, as then no-body would even try to become a mage. OOC: What happens if you get all your strength together, and: 1. You lose the battle 2. THe undead hear of it, and move behind the army, and attack the empty towns and cities behind you, while you march through the frozen wastes, looking for a force that isn't there?
